Default Who makes scale plans or kits?

I am looking for a scale rescue boat. I want something realistic looking. I would love to find a laser cut kit, but am having a hard time searching for one. Can you guys list some scale manufacturers for me. Other wise I will just have to heavily modify a Dumas kit. Thanks in advance!!

Andy, I don't think a scale hydro will make for a good "rescue boat"

I think I found what I am looking for. Its a Robbe Lehmar 1000-P15, but I can't find one forsale in the US. Harbor models told me it was discontinued, but I find them forsale in Europe.

Or does anyone know where I can get plans to build one?? I know some of us are into more tham just FE's. Thats why I'm asking here.

That is a sweet model. Doby is lucky because he has one of them. Don't ask, I already tried!

IMO a tug would be a better bet. Slow but powerful, if you are looking for a scale look rescue boat.

Maybe I wasn't clear on the Rescue boat. I meant a boat like you would see at an offshore race. Like the p-15. I already have a tug. I want to find something like that.

Yup,,and its staying up here in the great white north. Robbe only made them for a short time,,not very popular I suppose. I only ran it twice this year. With twin 700's on 4S it hit 24.5 MPH, Not bad for a big heayy boat. Its a catamaran that handles like its got jet drive manuverability. Full speed, crank the steerable outdrives over and it does this really need sliding / spin turn. Its really fun.

It is really big and bulky though, you would need a big transport to get it,,,and your FE's to the pond. Check out my gallery, I think there is a shot in there of the boat.

The Baby Bootlegger could be used to rescue, and it's as Scale as you'll find. A nice large hull is stable and can handle a drag line (lure on a few feet of line) really well. It won't be overwhelmed like a larger boat would.

The hydros also make great boats to be rescued :)

Here's a link to some of the coolest scale boats:

    http://www.modelslipway.com/

Somewhere on their website are links to distributors in several countries. Building any of these boats would be a major project.
