Default Delta Force 35 in. Pirate from OSE

Got my Pirate in a couple days after Mem. day. Went with a tp 4070 2200 kv and a 180 hobbywing seaking.
Also a stinger , rudder and turn fins all from OSE. Here is the first couple of pics. I filled in the two front scoops and the windshield groove
to change it up a little.

After watching Darin, I got to work on my flood chamber.

I also put another layer of glass in the bottom and under the deck, probably didn't need it but its in there.

My wife has a silhouette CAMEO that cuts vinyl . She printed a page full of stars I pulled the back ground and picked every other one out and layed them on. After 6 or 8 layers of clear you can hardly feel them.

I sprayed 4 good coats then let dry 2-3 days wet sanded with 600 and sprayed 3 more. I'm going to do that one more time then I'll be done. I had to touch up the nose my grandson cut me off and I speared his barbwire xl. Got them both repaired so all is good.

Wish I would have read up on Enamel vs. Lacquer. I'm using Rustoleum Painter's Touch Enamel, and I am having to wait 4-5 days between clear coats for fear of the dreaded "crackling" from re-coating too early. Oh well, been building my mono for over a year, what's a few more weeks.

That enamel is funny If you lay it down to wet it will wrinkle up, and it is a pain to strip it all off and start over been there.

It's an old ABS hull I picked up from a member, it's been a learning process for sure, scared to see what will happen when I finally get her in the water lol.

Those water inlets would be better if sanded flush.

It's 2200 it wasn't quite enough for my mean machine 2 so I swapped them out. It just seemed like too much in the pirate , I never could open her up . Yes I'll clean the water pickup's up '

    Cool

I am somewhat confused. The 40x74 is a bit small for a 35" mono but about right for the MM, had one myself. The TP "4070" with a 2200 Kv is a bit much for a boat the size of the Pirate but with an appropriate prop it can work well. What prop did the OP use with it? An x447 should be acceptable but not too much.

The above assumes 4S. On 6S a Kv of 2200 is SAW territory and generally not appropriate for a sport boat.

    Beautiful boat BTW!
