Really like that outboard! Would be nice if it had a motor cover like the real ones. Would look very scale. I can think of several uses for it!!

Would be interesting to see this boat in action!

Monica, do you have any pictures of the bottom? Is it a Stepped hull??

At that size, it's a viable boat for our P-LTD (with a motor swap to one on the approved motor list) or P-Offshore classes.

Nice boat Monica....good that a 36 size motor will bolt on. What are the gears made of?

Agreed about the motor cover, on my bucket list is to build a true scale X-cat with twin brushless powerplants.

Ditto on the gears and motor cover thoughts and question...that is a looming Darin and it looks like a stepped hull from the side photos.

The gear outboard is a scale outboard, and fit the X-CAT. So it will come with a cowl, of course. The pictures just Sneak Peek!!!
When the cowl is ready, will send more pictures of it. Just keep an eye here. :--)

Is TFL developing a catamaran hull that resembles the X-cat series??

Hi Monica... I am really interested in this new outboard! Since 36 size motors will fit, can I assume that the motor shaft coupling size will be 5mm? One of the main concerns I have about the TFL P1 outdrive is the motor coupling size is 1/8", so there are very few replacement motors that will work, given that the vast majority of motors with the 25mm bolt spacing that are compatible with it have 5mm shafts.

Can this new outboard be used with 4S power?

I look forward to seeing the motor with the cowl attached!

    Thank you!

Hi Monica, we chatted a little lastnight, and this is the kind of thing I was talking about! This boat has real racing potential! I know I want one. Be sure to let us know when and where to get one in the U.S.

To me, it looks like the other cheap toy boats you see on E-Pay out of Hong Kong and somewhere deep in the interior of China.
Just doesn't look good to me.

Well, I can say that I own two TFL boats, the Outerlimits on 4s and Genesis on 6s and am more than happy with them. I also just got my TFL P1 outdrive....Haven't tested it yet, but it's like a piece of jewelery. Just hoping theyou release an our board unit soon....I'm excited for this boat.

I'm tired of waiting for this product from TFL. In 2016, probably also will not be released?
