Aquacraft 45 amp ESC, just wondering if the smaller round protrusion is a faulty cap? The larger one looks good to me yes? If it is not safe, are these replaceable on this type of ESC?

Is the ESC giving you problems?
If so, adding another cap is easy and will keep the ESC going for a long time.

Haven't used it since the summer, was debating keeping it or not since I have been told running 4s on it would be advised. Honestly I've pushed 90 amps through it on several occasions and don't know if it is at the end of it's life or not. Saw the buldge and could not recall if it was like that when I bought it used or not.

That's not a cap. It is an inductor. It looks ok.

What does an inductor(?) do in the ESC?
It depends. Often as some type of filter for high frequencies oscillations.

Is that similar to the magnet looking thing on a ESC's rx lead?
Basically yes. It's to suppress high frequency "Noise".
