I hope my wonderful luck changes soon. I can now add a broken fibia in my ankle to my life. Just got out of surgery at 8pm.
Yesterday I got up, and while showering I slipped off the shower bench. Once back in the chair with help from 2 paramedics everything seemed fine except bruises. Went for my first stress test at 3 pm all the while having discomfort. Wendy and I go to my place, eat and check my bruises on knee. There was swelling but all seemed to be reasonable. Then Wendy and I drive to her place, get ready for bed, take off shoe and Whoa! That sucker was bad!
Decide to try and wait until morning to get x Ray hoping it was a sprain. Wake up at 330 am in pool of sweat a temperature. Off to hospital in a small blizzard to get checked.
So now cast on leg going to sleep, pray the lord my soul to keep.

I need to stop messing up!

    Oy vey!

Thanks guys. I'm at Wendy's place relaxing. She is amazing, just a little worried she's over doing it.

    Big heavy cast, bummer, lol.

There is one thing that is a great blessing, no pain. Being a complete paraplegic, it is sort of a benefit. Just have to deal with sweats and other things via autonomic disreflexia

Ray, start making crap up. That's what I tell Ty to do. He's got some scars from surgeries. I tell him to cook a different lie every time he's asked. The more outrageous the better.

"Oh I got that when I............... was attacked by a Tiger (went alligator wrestling, was bit by a python, went shark punching, surfed a giant wave and was thrown onto a coral reef).

My favorite.........."Well, remember that she creature that tried to rip out Sam's brain in Tranformers 2? Dated. It was fun while it lasted but I had to let her go."

Tell people you wang'd your ankle roll'n with the bulls. Because running with the bulls is for sissies.

    Lol, cool Terry.

I'm worried about Wendy more than me. She has degenerated discs in her back and after helping me so much she is ill now and thinks she can take care of me and work tomorrow.

    I'd be lying f I said I wasn't worried about her.

Can't feel my broken ankle, I'm lucky.

Well, if you can't feel any pain, then there are no excuses for not continuing to build boats...2 months till open water. Get on it and enough of the excuses.

New excuse #1. I have to keep it elevated so many hours of the day.

I can think of more, you know me

We will see if some swelling goes down tonight that came up since getting back at 2pm from hospital. My bed feels nice, night night.

How the heck can that be!? She only weighs 38 pounds.

Feel better Ray. Remind Wendy that her health matters too. People that just DO all the time forget.

Wendy almost shut down from pain after we got back from hospital. She started shaking, fever, vomiting. I had to care for her from after dinner until pretty late. After she has had lots of rest she is doing fairly well.

I'll be getting a little home care soon for showers and some physiotherapy.

Just lots of bed rest since its almost the only way to elevate the leg. My leg spasms are too strong to prop the leg up while sitting in my wheelchair. Since there are no anti-tip bars aka wheelie bars, if I have a spasm with leg on a coffee table I would go flip backwards. We will try to rig up something to keep me backed against a wall while propping up the leg. I could get more done this way.
I don't think it's good for the leg to stay a long time in normal sitting position.

    New cast next week.

Some lunch and back down. Kinda boring. I'm learning from this.

It's nice to chat back and forth in here occasionally. Thanks for entertaining me and all your comments. It's a nice day today.

In hospital again. I'm stable. Some clot or bleed in abdomen. I was fine Friday morning until noon when I was about to put in my new wheel hub.
Thought it was a heart attack. Rushed to hospital in Woodstock.

Another CT scan tomorrow to try and pinpoint exactly what it is and how to fix?

Just another day. Tomorrow is another day.

Maybe let Larry give updates in future.

Thanks again everyone! Might not make visit to can am but, again tomorrow is another day.
