Default November 27-29 Records Trial at the Huntsville Model Boat Club's NEW site same lake

We will have 1/3 mile ovals, 1/4 mile ovals and SAW.

Thank to all of our club members that came to help today. We had a great turnout and several sets of eyes to look over the new course. Sensor poles are in and both 1/3 and 1/4 mile courses are set up. The city has checked our course markers and we should have the paperwork next week.
The lake looks bigger now that we can see the whole lake and we are centered. We now have over 750 feet from both of the point buoys to the ends of the lake. We also set the course 90 feet instead of just 75 feet from the shore so that there will be plenty of room on the front straight.
Next step is getting the launch area concrete poured with a boat ramp on the North side of it.
Our next work day is 14 Nov 15 and hopefully we can put in the fence to guard the retrieve boat and the pit area.
Several guys enjoyed the pleasant weather and smooth water today. Hopefully 14 Nov will be as pleasant.

Mike our speed trials are open to all legal IMPBA classes! Gas Nitro and FE. Darin, it's surprising but we actually have more guys coming here to watch that weekend along with some very fast racers actually running. Lot's of kitchen passes handed out that weekend. I think the lady's also like to have the husbands away while they go $hopping! $$$ No ha$$le$ on what they $pend.

Heads up to anyone attending. I just received this from Rick Grim president of the HMBC.

"A reminder for the guys that haven't been to the East side. If you are coming from the Parkway on Drake you need to get in the left hand lane just after you pass the Conoco gas station. When you get to the Buick dealership turn into the middle lane on the canal bridge. At the end of the bridge you will need to turn left into the drive and come back through the second set of gates. This side of the lake is flat and there is a lot of room, hard packed roads and nice grass.

If you are headed West on Drake just go past the signal we used to turn at and turn at the next right. Drake curves through this area and it is a bit of a blind spot getting into or out of the pond so be patient".

    Good luck and have fun!!

Just a few days away! I am planning on riding down Saturday or Sunday. The weather looks good for Friday but 50% chance of rain after that. Everyone still planning on showing up?

We will be there and set up to run. The city of Huntsville delivered their portable stage and it is really nice . Be easy to drive and judge from and is covered on 3 sides.

Looks like we're going to luck out on the weather the forecast keeps getting better as each day goes by. Looking forward to a great weekend of running boats!

Funny thing is; I recall Jon telling others the GTR is a "company lease" LOL

    Have fun Fella's!

Techincally it is my second one. there were still a few available when my first one (Deep Blue Pearl, Premium edition) was due to go back in April. The lease included all maitenance including tires, which had to be replaced on each car 1 time in the 14,xxx miles I drove each of them over the last 13 months. You can't wipe the smile from my face........LOL

I wasn't able to make the record trials on Friday. My car is scheduled for turn in today, so I took advantage of the great weather and ran the Tail of the Dragon all day on Friday. Got in 8 runs, 7 of which are on my GoPro. At the end of the day the rotors had a dark blue tint, and the rear end was covered with rubber dust. Burned 16 gallons of gas in 125 miles. And had a blast doing it. But alas the ride is over. Car gets turned in at 6PM today (unless I decide to purchase it off lease, getting the quote now).

Unfortunately GTR's are not in the employee lease plan in 2016; I will have to settle for a 2016 370Z NISMO.

Perfect. Thanks. I thought the power systems looked a little more relaxed in that hull (in other words, NOT so cramped for space! )

Just so you guys know we usually have one in the last part of March or first part of April another in end of July or 1st of August this is slated towards FE since they do not need cool air to make HP. We also have one in October and our Turkey Day event. He July/ August is the least attended since nitro and gas boats like cooler weather to run fast in.

Doug, we had a great group of racers at this event that is what makes an event good. I know these FE racers really showed our regular guys just what the FE group is capable of.
