New best this morning! It started chine walking just a tiny bit at WOT so I lowered the stinger 1/4 turn. That didn't help much so I turned the trim tabs down 1/4 turn and she was solid as a rock after that. Temps are good! Everything is in the 80s and the motor just bumped 90. I think it's time to see what 6s will do.

Nice, 2mph bump just from sanding the bottom of the hull?

Maybe so??? Didn't hurt anything! I didn't touch anything else at all. Even left the batteries in it so the COG would be exactly the same. I also put a 600 grit finish on everything that touches the water. Tabs, rudder, prop... Hmmmm

Edit: Just reading back through this thread and realized I went the wrong way with the stinger this morning. Whoops.

    Great boat!

I just wanted to say that when I was first running my Pursuit, I ran a Leopard 4082 1600kv on 6S and I was getting chine walk, top speed was 60mph. I made hull adjustment first, but later I put the batteries in the center and the ESC on the left side to counter the torque roll. This allowed me to go neutral on most of the hull settings to increased my speed to 65 mph with that setup.

It worked perfectly, I honestly don't own a more balanced boat than my Pursuit with this configuration, it will hit 70+ mph on Octura x642 prop, SSS 2000kv motor on 6S.

I've attached a pic below, I use two 3S 5000mAh batteries places in the battery bag in the front, connected to the hull by Velcro for low center of gravity. I use a carbon battery holder on the left side to hold my ESC, BEC-battery, receiver, etc.

Also, at the speeds you are going, you will need to reinforce the hull. At the vary least the side seems where the top of the hull connects to the sides of the boat, they will crack even at below 60mph. Add at least 1 layer of fiberglass cloth on the cowl, its very thin from stock.

Thanks for the info! What is your COG with the batteries that far forward? And yes, I know this thing need some serious reinforcement. I have been lucky so far and haven't beat it up much at all. I plan on building a nicer hull soon. Hopefully soon enough!

Had her getting down good this weekend but it made a nasty hook at full speed. Yikes! I knew it was coming. Pulled the motor mount lose but other than that it's okay. Got a new MHZ hull in a few weeks ago and have been getting everything together for it but I'm still undecided on several things. I guess I will keep hammering on the ole Pursuit for a bit longer. Time to make her strong and tighten some things up!

Back at it today! Gluing everything in. Man, that's a lot of work...

Made a new servo mount to get rid of the sloppy stock style.

    Thread resurrect!
What type of canopy gasket did you use?
Shouldn't the seam be at the transom? I get it, front = less water infiltration

Sorry guys, I'm still here! Had(have) a lot going on and haven't taken this thing out in a good while. I did test run it one time after redoing it with a small prop. It ran okay but I lost all of my adjustments when I had it all apart. Haven't been back since. I'm lazy but we ain't done just yet...

Haha, thanks. That was a good morning. Boat didn't run like I wanted but I got some cool pictures. I know nothing about photography but I got lucky that day. It was EARLY and super foggy. I even beat the fishermen out that day. I took those with my stupid cell phone. What's that saying? "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while".

Made a new steering rod out of 1/8" stainless and MPB rod end. Man, this stainless is NOT fun to work with. I tried a cheap die but, it killed itself instantly. A good MAC tools die got the job done. I used a small metal brake to make the bend. I drilled out the stock rear swivel to 1/8" so we will see how that goes...

I've been super busy but, got in a little bit of work on the Pursuit. Finally got around to reinforcing the hatch with two layers of 9oz glass. No more paper thin stuff here!

Got the new steering rod dialed in with a new Hitec HS-7955TG digital servo. It's SOLID now.

Got her wet for the first time in a WHILE yesterday morning. Just some easy 4s passes but she was running sweet. Man, it felt good to get back out there!

Installed these hatch bolts from OSE today. These things are very nice. Well, after you strip off the purple...

She's ready for some more runs!
