    Thanks for the reply.
Do you have experience with the sf esc?

    Lol
Still not sure but it will either be a 1521 or a 1717.
I have plenty to do before I need to decide, and there's at least 5 feet of snow in my front yard

In my opinion the 1717 will have a little more gusto than the 1521. Its got Neu's "blessing" and most likely Neu's quality control. Plus its a bit bigger 46 x 85mm to the 1521 at 40 x 84

On the Zpoxy thing, that's about all I use 5min. and 30min depending on what I'm doing. I've never had anything come apart that wasn't my fault and that was only one thing. If I'm doing motor mounts or something like that I mix either milled fiberglass or milled Carbon Fiber with it to make it thicker, stronger and to color it. IMO Good Stuff !!! Their Finishing Resin is good too!

I have used the 30 min. Z-Poxy extensively, good stuff. The only thing is that it is pretty sensitive with the mixing ratio, and I am always afraid to have incorrect 1:1 ratio that I pour enough to the mixing cup for a precise reading. In the end, I have wasted quite a lot. Some people use a tiny amount on a piece of card board to mix, haven't figured out that technique out yet... Also when they say 30 min. pot life, I often wish it is still longer.

I'm gonna say the 1717, 5mm more diameter and a hair longer too. As i said it pushes my 39" mono to 60.

Agreed, love the free board. Regular DF35 has ride pad, no?
    Inlay template looks good!

    No idea on that.
The only thing I can say it that there is a very small difference in length and width of them. So small I would be inclined to say that it's only because the top decks are different.
However, looking at pictures of the two, the pirate looks a bit deeper V, but it's impossible to tell from just a picture

From studying the pics, I'm pretty sure the bottoms are the same. The Pirate looks deeper because of the little extra freeboard and that's what makes the difference in the length and width.

That inlay looks great! What grit do you use to sand the hull down prior to laying in the cf? Also, since you're doing 2 layers, have you thought of just getting 6k cloth instead? Just a suggestion as that'll save you time and it's easier to work with.

    I used 180
No I hadn't thought about heavier cloth. I just got some good easy to use cloth. I'll consider that in the future thanks!

If you want to do a nice job, it's necessary to have the rite materials.
A bit costly, but worth it.

    Default DF pirate 35 build

Guys, if you aren't using west systems 105, I highly recommend it. I've used zpoxy for years and never has it been this easy and good looking....

I really like the 105/207 also, because it's crystal clear. No yellow whatsoever
