Default Old atlas van Lines electric conversion help.

Hey guy I bough a used Dumas atlas van lines hydro this weekend all in great shape no holes cracks or breaks! I talked with Steve and ordered a leopard 5698 1100kv motor award fish pro 300 amp ESC octura 450 3 blade prop. I am going to run it on 2 4s wired as 8s. Any help with the prop would be great this is a wood glass 40 inch hydro. I am just hopping it gets on plane not really worried about too much speed but 20 25 would be great if it went faster that's great also. Give me some feedback please.

That cool I have it stripped down now. Who ever built it did a great job. I have some new stuff coming for it tomorrow that should bring it back too life. I'm pretty excited it just needed some TCL!

I hope to try to build my first boat from scratch this year. We will see how that turns out.

I used to have one of these and had the same plans for it. sold it to DJ here on the forum.
I know that's a heavy hull, but I would think you would see some good speed outta it with that kind of power.
Don't quote me, but I see no reason 50 + mph would not be obtainable.
    Good luck

Got my prop ESC and motor today. Realized the motor mount was not big enough so went ahead and ordered a motor mount new bigger flex cable and bigger collet. Really hope that's all I need!

Steinersamuel is right. You will see up to 60mph with that setup once you get the boat dialed in.
We put your setup, including prop, in one of those big 50" Vantex Hydros & she does that sort of speed. Not only a bigger boat but i'm sure it's heavier too.
The only difference is that we used a TP Power motor, not a Leopard.
This will be good to see on the water.

That's good to know! I hope the prop is not too small. As big as the boat is I am struggling where to put everything. Where should the COG be more weight up front or in back?

I don't have that particular hull. But I would imagine the COG should be around one & a half inches behind the heel of the sponson.
Someone with that hull will probably chime in with a more accurate measurement.

That is a good starting spot for sure might be closer to an inch but set it up so you can move the batteries to change the cog
