    Default swordfish auto timing?

How does the auto timing work? Is it safe? My motor runs much better set to auto than any other setting. (Neu 1860kv d wind 1521). It doesn't get as warm set to auto either. Thoughts?

I did search around and didnt find much useful info on it. Just very few people using auto and more people using "low" timing on D winds. I just dont get wht it sounds so poor on 0 degrees timing when my other escs work just fine at 0. maybe its truly not 0?

I've always set mine to Auto timing. For the very reason that you noticed. It seems to run better.
Optimal timing is relative to load & revs. Not just the type of wind.
If an ESC has the ability to keep the timing at an optimal level, why not use it.

I have used nothing but Auto Timing for years because it works far better for the reasons 785 has stated.
