My new Lucas Oil Cat, out of the box, had the strut set so the back of strut was a fraction below sponsons with about .0025" negative angle at the front of the strut. That seemed like it was very deep with a lot of negative trim. I've was told that about 1/16" above bottom was good place to start & I could go as high as 1/8' above with a little negative angle (about .0010) at the front of the strut.
1- Is that good advice?
2- Any input on running a strut with a small skeg?
I just tuned up the bottom. I haven't had the boat to the water yet, still waiting for props.
The boat will be run in P-LTD. Cat on 4s.
Thanks, Jim
