    Default HiFei v4.11 Software Install

As quite a few people are having issues with the installation of this SW, I'd thought I'd post a how to. This is for Windows 8 but Windows 7 should be the same.

After you've downloaded the SW from HiFei's website, move it to a folder. You can see the directory path that I chose.

The important part of the install is to NOT install it in your Programs directory. You can see my directory path I'm using is this and the first screenshot.

You will get this messasge. Just take note of the "bit" version of the driver SW it wants you to run.

Even though you told it to install in a different directory, it will still creates an empty folder in your Programs directory. You can delete this folder.

Now go to the folder you installed it in and run the driver application. In my case it was the 64 bit version.

Now connect your USB Linker and ESC to your computer.

You can hunt and peck to find the right COM port that the program is using, but it's easiest to go into your Device manager and look. In my case it's COM3.

    Thank you sir!
I have refrained from posting my fear and frustration on this matter, now I feel I can attempt to do it again, previous installation was successful after many many hours of , but I had to buy a new computer and to this day I haven't garnered enough courage to redo it.
Anyway, I just want to thank you here!

I trust you will have success this time. I completely uninstalled the SW from my laptop, rebooted and started fresh. From time stamp in the file names it looks like it took me 17 minutes to install. You can see the time gaps when I had to answer the phone though. If I didn't stop to take screen shots, it's really takes a couple of minutes max.

1st of all. Thank you for taking the time to put this together, Hopefully I will have success after I try this later tonight or tomorrow. 2nd of all , It's a D*#& shame that the manufacturer after all the complaints and difficulty that has been expressed with using this program have not put something similar out to assist the users. They could have done the same thing you did so all that talk they give us about "Costing Money" is crap.

THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN RICK...... I'll let you know how it turns out!!!
