    Default Interesting observation.....

Li-Ion cells are not legal in Namba but are in Imbpa. Only LiFePo4 is legal in Namba and not 3.7v cells. LiIon round cells are improving all the time at higher amp draws. I like the way the Impba rules are written better. Just my 2 cents

And yet, the Lipo batteries we all use are technically "Lithium Ion Polymer" They won't work without the Ion in them.

    Hence the abbreviation "Lipo".

Technically, Li Polymer is not Li-Ion. However, you may be correct, NAMBA may consider them the same.

    a) The following battery chemistries will be considered official for electric racing in NAMBA:

    i) Ni-chemistry: maximum of Sub-C sized cells with nominal 1.2 volt per cell.

ii) Li-polymer chemistry: nominal 3.7 volts per cell.

iii) Li-ion chemistry: nominal 3.3 volts per cell.

So, like I stated.....3.7V Li-Ion is NOT legal in NAMBA
