I don't think I'll be ready by then, but say I am...what do I need to do? Do I need to sign up to an organization? I'm completely new to this. What about rules? Maybe a list of guidelines my boat must meet to be in a particular class?

It's an IMPBA event. You should be able to find most of your questions here...

    KFXGUY,
This is an IMPBA time trial so you will need to join IMPBA prior to running you can join at the event. We will have applications. Also as for classes they are explained in the rulebook which can be found at http://www.impba.net/attachments/art...2014-final.pdf

listing the specific guidlines would be very hard since there are many classes and I have no idea what equipment you are running. I'd be glad to help you if you provide some information or I would suggest checking out the section of the rule book above first to see if your equipment fits into a specific class. I know some of th ereuirements pertain to length of a hull so make sure to check that too along with cell count and motor type.

Looking forward to our records trial this coming weekend, that 's right it's Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.

We will be running under the Witching hour rules listed below. Sunset is at 4:45 pm so Witching hour starts about 3:45pm.

    Witching Hour Rules

Witching Hour Rules will apply, 1 hour prior to sunset. A short list consisting only of drivers whose boats have been within 5 percent of the record during the event or if they currently hold that record will be allowed to run on the short list. Those on the short list will have the water until sunset. If no one on the short list elects to run at any time after witching hour begins open running will become effective using the daily list until such time that someone on the short list elects to run. At that time only people on the short list are eligible to run until such time that those participants are not running again. This can happen as often as the short list participants pass their turn. No one on the short list can give up their spot.
