    Default What speed control?

I'm new to the fast electric and less then a month ago bought a bj 29 and am hooked! I just won an eBay auction for a 32" carbon fiber cat with a Neu Racing 1515 motor. What is a good speed control for this? Will the motor be ok with 5s as long as the speed control can handle it?

What is the width? I would guess a 32" TFL cat in Carbon. Nice scoop.

I see the water pickup on the rudder gets tee'd to the esc and the motor. What are your thoughts on this? Should it be ok? I know water will take travel too the least resistance path it can go.

I run on a Neu 1515 2200kv on 6S and I have used the hobbywing T180 on that setup http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...seaking-180-v3 I do suggest using a prop like a 442 or 642 and work up from there...I personally dont use the cooling line splitters, I prefer seperate lines on my hotter setups. One from rudder and one through hull pickup or use a dual pickup rudder.....that should be a fast boat even if you only go 4S...have fun... DJ

I don't like Y fittings for the very reason you stated Paddy.
The only way to see if it works properly is to have both outlets on the same side of the boat & see if the water streams out at the same rate as the boat roars past you at full noise.
I prefer the old into the ESC, then the motor & out the boat myself. Simple & Efficient.

Nice find, I would ditch the y connector for cooling and run cooling to esc first then motor. Some prefer to cool the motor first, if the setup is right it will work fine either way. To install another pickup not worth it imo, I mainly run twin cats and run only 1 pickup for each motor/esc combo and this works fine.

If 2200kv then start on 4s, work up to 5s. Esc I would say the swordfish 220a available in the store on this site.

    Paddy.
You might as well try it the way it is first. If the streams are reasonably equal, there would be no reason really to change it. It obviously worked for the other owner.
It's just that I wouldn't have set it up that way in the first place.
