m1mark - sorry dead line is past. I had top get things going. I may have a few extra after the shakes out. I'll let you know.

ron1950 - I see you posted according to the main page. I don't see anything on this actual thread. The site seems to have some glitch's yet.

I got the volume order in. Waiting for confirmation from TP on the transaction.

The labels will have to be removed for the cooling can to go on. I will be engraving the KV number along with a date code on the end bell. I like how the wires are seperated. Bolt pattern is a little different than the 2030 but will work fine. Getting a little fired up again to run electric. Got 3 races coming up. I'll do my best to burn these up. :) Please pardon my crappy picture taking.

That's the way I do all my TPs, I engrave the info on the end bells because that label never lasts and it's usually covered by the can.

    m1mark - Your in 1 - 2100 and 1 - 1900. paypal is dairymasters@tds.net.

Got a few other requests as well. However this promotion is now closed.

The more I look over this motor, don't know why I didn't search this out earlier. This motor makes the 2030 look like a $10.00 motor. Literally not kidding. This transition will not be soon enough.

Full order is in. Money Order is mailed. I expect delivery in 3 weeks. Week of 10/6 probably. Will repack and send out as soon as I am able.

    Final count - 54 motors.

What is the best esc timing for the TP 4 pole's?

I called Tp and they recommend 0 degree timing
but said 0-4 degrees was fine also.

not sure how to explain it (much smarter guys on here than me) but it has to do with the way they are wound
a Y wind usually want higher timing like 11* plus
were a D wind usually want lower timing of 0-3*

    Attention motor testers!

After submitting the order and mailing the big check I receive an e-mail from TP telling me that they just updated their line of 36mm motors. Something to do with magnets. The 3630 10D is no longer a 2100 kv. The 3630 11D is no longer available.

The 3630 10D is now rated at 1950 kv. The 3630 9D is at 2160 kv. They have a 3640 7D at 2080 kv. The intent of this promotion and test is to find a close replacement for the 2030. I have been informed a couple times that the AQ2030 kv is actually more like 1900 something. I am told by the engineer at TP that the rated 1950 kv on the TP3630 10D at nuetral timing is accurate to within 5%. Therefore the 3630 10D at 1950 is the closest replacement to the AQ2030. The 3630 9D at 2160 kv is too high. The 3640 7D has a nice kv but the can size and mass does not match up. Therefore I have to make an executive decision :) and only be able to offer the TP 3630 10D 1950 kv motor under this promotion/test.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know how you want your order/requests to change. Cancellations are understood. I can paypal back your money. I am planning now to try and have a revised order in by this Friday. My 6 bran new (now outdated) motors are shipping back tomorrow.

The TP site is supposed to be upgraded in the near future.

    Dougie:

Just send me the closest to the 2030 AQ motor that you are going to get from them...

My head hurts...must be from the fall a few weeks ago...right about the same time I started to agree with you

Doug, are you going to ask them to make the leads shorter out the back if guys want that? Not like it matters to me as I'm not doing testing, just saying that those leads get really long sometimes and if you ask ahead, they should be able to tailor them for you unless they are already produced.

Thanks for the quick replies. Big pain in the arse for me. If I didn't have such a bad taste in my mouth for the current spec system I would have pulled the plug and ran. :)

Ray - I am thinking in some situations the longer wires may be good. The wires by the way are seperated coming out of the can and have quality heat capable insulation.

brushless55 - I looked at that one. The 2100 kv was actually a little above what would have been a perfect replacement. The fact that the option is now the 1950 it will help establish guidlelines/rules - 1800 to 2030 as reported by the manufacturer - but more important as teched and approved by a 3 person tech committee.

royalcasa - I'll see if we can work something out. My underwriting of this venture is intended to right the ship and not just to provide discounted motors. I'll send you a PM tomorrow.

Some good news - I asked TP to permanently mark the end bell with the KV rating so that we would be able to tech these for spec racing. I didn't like the fact the kv label could just be pulled off. Just got an e-mail back and am told they would. The upgrade of their motors did indeed catch me/us off gaurd, but how about that for meeting the customers requirements? That is how it is done.
