Default Over charging while in Parallel

    I have an I-charger 206b that I Parallel charge four 2s 5000 65c lipos on. I charge at a 20 amp charge rate.

However, when I put it in storage mode with all four lipos hooked up it charges them each to 3.95/cell. But if I put each lipo on by its self and click storage it charges them to 3.85/cell.

Why is it over charginging them in storage mode when all four are hooked up in Parallel????

    Thanks!

    Kaotic.
It could be that your charging harnesses//boards for parallel charging have high resistance. This would alter the parameters of the measuring algorithms in the software.
Is that reading of 3.95V on the charger display, or is it a measurement of the battery after it has been disconnected from the charger at the end of the charge?

If it charges like that for regular chaging...you need to get the new hv lipos lol

Lower the discharge cut off voltage to 3.7-3.75v
    This will solve the problem.

Yes that reading is taken after I disconnect them from my charger.

Well. I've got no idea then. I'm assuming that when you fully charge them in parallel that the charger cuts out at the normal 4.2V?

Yes it cuts at 4.2. I ordered some harnesses from progressive so maybe that will fix it.

Have you tried charging just two at a time to see where the storage charge terminates?

Yes if I do 1 or 2 it will terminate at 3.86-3.88

Well maybe it works the other way then.
If you have, for arguments sake, 4 packs at 2 m/ohm/cell each connected in parallel, the charger would see only 0.5 m/ohm/cell. Maybe that low reading is upsetting the calculations in the Charger.
I don't know. I'm not big on electronics.

Lowering the cutoff point in the Storage Mode menu, as jkr suggests, would fix it. But if you then, at some time, wish to do a single pack you will have to change it again.

I know, hopefully my new harnesses will be here in Andy or two and that will magically fix the problem I hope. If not I guess I'll just have to store them one at a time. I did scroll through the menu on the charger and couldn't find where the setting was to change the 3.85v termination.

Doing two at a time seems to be ok.
