    Default 1518 vs 1521 motor ???'s

Im looking to upgrade my motor in my 32" cat. I have a 1800kv 1518 castle vesrion. I was going to try a neu 1521 (i had a 1520 1600kv and it fit) but i wanted to know if it would be worth it? I just want a few more mph (maybe 3-5). also, the 1521 1870kv version is a "d" wind....ive never run a d wind before and ive rear they are amp hogs and ive also read there isnt much difference. whats you guys take on this? Is it possible to get a custom y wind? Ive tried to call neu a couple times. No answer. Ive emailed..... No answer. How would i go about getting a custom wind?

If the motor you want is listed on the Neu site but is one that OSE sells, contact Steve and he'll order it for you. And OSE will be cheaper than ordering it directly from Neu. Don't worry about the D winds being an amp hog versus the Y's. You have to be prudent on set up no matter what motor you choose. I used a Neu 1518 1.5D on 6S and took the River Cat to over 95 mph at a trials event.

So just looking at the chart, the 1521 is .7hp stronger at max power vs the 1518 neu...which I'm not sure what the rating on the castle 1518 is. Not sure this slight upgrade is worth the money I'd spend....

For your purposes, I think you should play more with what you have. Don't know your exact set up. PM sent to you.
