Travis, to run 7S or 8S in the T180v2 you have to turn off the LVC and add capbanks an external bec wouldnt be a bad idea either. Another nice build bro... DJ

I wanna try something different so I figured I'd order some stainless ones. I won't be getting the 225 Prather tho. Ose is out of stock so I ordered them from kintec, he refunded me for the 225 a day later. Guess he didn't have them. I just bought an etti 7s 150 amp pro race controller and three more batteries....2 3s and one 4s pack. All 6500mah 65c. They are spc packs, I seem to be having good luck with them. They are constructed well and have noticeably more power than my venom. I already have a set in my possession that belong to my buddy and I've compared them to venom in my buggy. I expect just the batteries to pick up a mph or so. I'm gonna sand the bottom bur I'm unsure what grit...600?

Update: this worked like a champ. Thanks! Now I can run it on 7s. I have a problem tho. A 4s pack will not fit no matter what.

I ended up using a loose matching cell and added it in. I put it in against the wall to the outside left of the boat, velcroed in place. Then the 3s pack gets strapped in essentially sandwiching it in there. I'm tempted to go run it tomorrow. Bad thing is I just ordered a $85 4s pack I can't use. I even cut the side rail thinner. Nope.

I upgraded the cooling on the esc also, figured it could use it. (Most of you saw this in my other thread so sorry for the repeat. Just wanted to document what I've been doing)

    Default Cut Hatches

Travis, you really want to get slick? Cut some new hatches up forward over the sponsons to slide your 4s packs in, like the ones on this Hydro.DSC02578.jpg

That's pretty slick...and I could do it but I got it working now. I think if I put batteries that far up front, she'd submarine when I let off lol. It's also full of foam up there too so that would be a mess! I'd rather just build another boat

    Update:
Had intentions of trying it on 7s. I forgot my Y adaptor so I'm topping my packs off. I did a little back to back battery testing.

Test 1. Prather 230 prop. Strut unchanged from 70.0mph run. Venom 5000 50c packs. Well broken in. These packs balance perfectly every time. Result:

Test 2. Spc 6500 65c same everything as above.

Btw, esc temp was 110f and motor was 118f. That was after making several hard passes and running around the lake for a bit. When I ran it more it didn't really climb higher. I did not revert back to the stock cooling block like I wanted to. Before the block I made the temps were 109 - 110f with less prop. The motor temps were about even with the esc temps. Now esc temps are staying lower. I guess the block helps. Doesn't hurt that's for sure.

Went back just now. Ran on 7s. Hoped to pick up 8 to 10 mph but it didn't. Still a gain tho! Surpassed my goal...wooohooo! Video shortly

I thought it was gonna do a little better with the Prather prop. It's thin as can be and it still prop walks. The m645 don't prop walk. I dunno. What prop should I try next? I know if I get a match 7s setup in the spc batts it's gonna pick up 1-2mph but I'm not sure on what prop to try next.

Get a X648 detounge, thin and balance it, and see how that works. Did you detounge the Prather?

I'm sorry guys, I got ahead of myself. I forgot to show what it did on 6s, still pretty fast. I just got so excited about the 80.6 on 7s I forgot how good it did on 6s.....Prather prop. May have went a touch faster with the m645

If you totally detounge the Prather it will take a lot of the prop walk out, and if you get the X648 do the same with it.

Nicely done Travis. Kind of strange the m645 dont propwalk but the prather 230 does not much difference in them other than a slight pitch 2.8/3.0...I guess at those rpm's that little bit could make the diff....one of the reasons I go smaller props higher kv motors, no propwalk...looking forward to seeing what the detounging does...DJ

Thanks. I'm pretty stoked but I know she's got more in her. I'm really wanting to try a neu 1521 tho. I think it'll be a little fast on 6s. Here some pics of the two props. You can clearly tell the m645 is thicker too....

Thanks! I'll check into that prop. Cant hurt to try it.

Edit: I see the 1816 is 1.6 pitch....same as I have now. ...is it just a much better prop? Or maybe go with the 1.8 pitch version?

You could try both, but don't put too much thought into comparing the numbers. ABC props will typically perform (and load) to a higher degree than other brands with similar pitch and diameter numbers.
