It's been more than two years since I last ran my UL-1, I have to admit that I wasn't too fond of the particular example I got, and I stress that it might be only this boat since I bought it as a "hull only", the origin was totally unknown. It wobbles left and right and now that I know a bit more, I can see the ride pads need work, I would have blue printed them and perhaps even add my own ride pads if I were going to spend time on it. I remember the last time I put a Grim 40x52/3 on the increase speed really made the boat skittish.
I have this UL-1 Air-Foil made by H.R.D. ( Hug Racing Designs) that is basically a clear plastic down force wing that you slide over the front of the hull, tape it to the hull and replace the nose canopy----plug-and-play. I took the boat round the lake and went WOT all the time, the hull gets unsettled some times just like before ( remember that I didn't attempt to do any dialing, it was like the first day), but I had no fear of it flipping as you can see in the video. The down force does calm my boat and on most of the stretches it is sailing quite well.
