4th heat of Q-Sport. Finally uploading some stuff.
Again I start last because i'm unsure of speed and staging for 1st place can cause carnage. The esc was not programmed to what I wanted and the boat isn't even close to dialed in yet.
That's almost 8 laps including the mill. Last to leave, last to come back to dock. Can you hear Al Waters saying, "slow down Ray, you're done..." LOL...
Nortavlag Bulc
Nice, thanks Ray, one day there will be enough Q Sports out here to have a race. Only one so far, mine. :)
But there are some scales in the works. Heading to WA for the NAMBA Nats today so I'll get a chance to see some FE 1/8th scales there.
Namba District 16

I want to post the Top 10 High Points drivers, as they really did a fantastic job at this event.
1. David Newland 127 pts
2. Doug Twaits, Jr 125 pts
3. Ken Haines 106 pts
4. Mike Ball 78 pts
5. Tyler Garrard 74 pts
6. Fred Siewert 73 pts wins tie
7. Tom Castellani 73 pts
8. Ray Schrauwen 71 pts
9. John Einstein 67 pts
10. Terry Davis 62 pts
For High Points, each driver was allowed their 8 highest point classes towards their High Point total. 8 is the average boat count per driver @ the sign up deadline. You score points based off of entrants for any particular class. For instance, if there are 12 entrants in P Mono, then the winner of P Mono gets 12 points. 2nd place gets 11 points, etc. Obviously, you are rewarded highly for solid placement in the more popular classes. And, this type of calculation allows for the Offshore classes to be included as well.
One notable item. Jason Simms, who has won this before, tied for 11th this year. And, he only ran 5 classes. He was mostly Haines' and Pags' hired pitman for the event. If he would have signed up for just 3 more classes (and popular ones), he would have been right in there at the top. Oh the sacrifices he makes for his friends!
Great job, guys!
4 guys from MMEU in the top 10. Not too shabby.
I keep telling our gang that they can hang with anybody. Maybe they'll believe me now.

I just noticed. Douggie turned a quicker heat with his borrowed P mono than Dave did with his Q mono.

Interesting how close the times were for P limited Sport and P Sport Hydro.
Ray - Great video of the Q sport heat. I remember Pags leaning over on the drivers stand to remind me that there was only 25pts between us. That was calming!! ...and then Jimmy yelling in my ear when I was chasing Pags for the lead, 'You HAVE to win this to take the class....do NOT lift!!!!!'. ....... And then....... 'AWE!!!! YOU LIFTED'. Good times!!!!!!!!
- "Chip"
That last heat my stuffing tube was severely crushed from hitting Bob. The binding was creating tons of heat and when I lifted off the throttle it would slow down way faster than normal. I'm surprised nothing blew up, glad I only had a M447 on there.
Nortavlag Bulc
Pete I really wanted you to win that class. You gave it a great run. Not the best pitting there looking back now. Sorry about that.
Don't know what you're talking about!! I wouldn't trade Jimmy 'the numbers' Fransisco for any other pitman.
Ray - I STILL can't believe you are only running an M447. That motor has to be much higher KV than the 1527-1Y. Whatever it is, I WANT ONE!

The Numbers. Haha. Remember you're not racing for the podium.
Terry,
We could start a thread all on it's own of Douggie stories!
I loaned him a 1515 1D back at the NATS at Lake Minden, back before most had bought into the "hype" of their quality, and he proceeded to kick my a$$ all over the pond with it in N2-Mono... :)
He's so freaking good!

I loaned him that P mono Pursuit. He had me move the cells up a 1/4" I couldn't possible tell the difference in a 1/4"

I wanted to bring this post back up... The link below should have about 400+ high resolution pictures from the nats. I am relatively new to using this type of equipment so some of them are blurry.
