    Default Drain plug alternatives?

    Hi guys,

I lost my drain plug on my first run with my Lucas Oil cat. Turns out I need to learn a bit about driving a cat (spun it out the first time I turned). Finished my run and brought it back to shore, and noticed that the plug was gone. There was very little water in the sponson, but I only came off plane as I was approaching the shore. I think it popped out when I spun the boat (it was kinda violent). I was surprised that the plug fell out, it seemed to fit nice and tight.

Can I just use some waterproof tape over the hole and replace the tape each time out? Would seem to be a little more reliable than the rubber plug?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Thanks G. I've used electrical tape to seal my hatches for 2 seasons and (knock on wood) it has never let a drop of water inside.
