    Default 1/8 scale U-95 Hydro.

A couple of videos of the U-95 while testing a couple of props last weekend.
the second one was taken from the bank at the end of the back straight for something a bit different.

    Cheers.
    Paul.

    Hello Paul ,
I'm new to this forum but I am in need of some help in setting up an early Dumas scale shovel nose hydro. It looks about the same size as yours, 1/8 scale. I'm not a racer anymore but would love to have my hydro setup half as well as yours. Component information of any kind would help me. I'm an old nitro boater and love all the new electric technology out there.
    Thanks,
    Jason.

    Hi Jason.
    Welcome to the forum.
It all starts with how many cells you are going to run. On 8s, a motor of around 1000kv is good. On 10s about 800kv works well. An ESC of at least 240A & 12s rating would be required.
There are many choices & cost will be a big factor. I'm probably not the best person for advice, as this is the first 1/8 scale boat I've built.
If you post the question in the 'Questions & Answers' forum on the front page, you will have a plethora of more experienced guys that will be able to help. Post a few photos and list the dimensions & weight & the suggestions will come.

Just to let you know...The U-95 is 42" long & this is what is in it.

    2 X 4s packs in series for 8s.

    Prather s235 prop.

I'm in the same boat as you now, as I've just ordered a 1/8 scale shovel nose kit from ML Boatworks & I'll be looking for set up advice on that myself. I'm not sure if there are different requirements for a shovel over a pickle fork.

    All the best.
    Paul.

    Mike.
That certainly makes the effort all worthwhile. I'm glad you like it.
I hope I can do the Lauterbach Hydro kit, you are about to send me, the same justice.
For those not familiar with this kit.
    Here it is. Simply stunning.
If this doesn't stir your juices, then you've got no soul.

Yep. That's me. Always happy. I can't wait to get stuck into this one. One of the most famous boats of this type here in Aussie Land is Midnight Miss. I've been thinking of copying that but I'm still looking at other schemes too. Preferably Australian. Latimer Lodge is also a good one.

Graham and Kerry are back over in the States with the miss for the vintage hydro circuit. Also she is for sale if you want the full size version Paul.

I heard she was for sale Andrew. But I'll have to pass on that.
I hope they do well over there on the tour. She will turn a few heads.

Joker RC Productions (Dave) was at Sippy Downs on Sunday for the Regatta & he put together a video of the U-95 in action. Including a beautiful flip. Thanks Man.
    Enjoy.
