Ive been away from a computer and haven't been able to post on my phone due to new settings I guess thru OSE and having to update my profile for whatever reason.

Ive got friends and family in town and will not be there tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas

nope just pb1500 like last year ..not much interest in the 1800 and probably not much more speed anyway...I cant even get my modern to stop tail hopping and get any speed at all yet...

id say sence u are going to have to be fast to get all the parts u will need now...strut ...rudder motor mount...motor ... right hand flex or decide if u want to use solid shaft....through hull fitting etc all the little stuff so u dont have to stop and order stuff ....

What are the rules on the shaft. Does it need to be solid shaft? Once I get the kit I will order everything right away once I see exactly what I need. Is there anywhere I can see a listing of parts I need now online?
Also does anyone have an extra drain plug for the Blackjack or Miss Geico 29 laying around from an old hull. I took mine out after I flipped last time and it fell off the table never to be seen again.

didn't know the 29's had a drain plug at least my old mg doesent....doesent have to have a solid shaft but has to have a straight stuffing tube from exit of hull to the strut....there are no lists that I know of...its the same as any boat build from scratch...u need at least one of everything....

Rich,if you haven't already,be sure to read T.C.'s 1967 Miss Budweiser build that's posted on RumRunners forum.

Terry has scratch built 2 thunder boats from plans and is our local expert. He's mostly retired from the hobby now, but if you can hook up with him via PM,I'm pretty sure he'll be glad to "coach" you thru your build.

Do you have a straight shaft on yours and is the straight stuffing tube solid from the hull to the strut?
I am going to give it my best shot to get it done before the race. If not I am going to run LSO and P-mono anyway. I will keep you posted. I wish we could get more guys in our area interested in these. They just look so cool running and they look like they are fun to drive. Hairy in the turns.

Thanks RJS for the info. Rumrunners is a bear to get registered on. It kept hanging up on the "Are you human" question and then I couldnt figure out what the squiggly words were.

Good I like the idea of a flex shaft over solid. For running counter clockwise do you run a different rotation on the prop?

I spoke with Mike at ML boatworks tonite. I changed to the 103 hull on his advice as he has a bottom plate for it that makes building easier. Havent decided on which boat yet. He is a really nice guy and very helpful.

Yes, reverse rotation cable and reverse rotation props.

The build by TC (Terry Cowger) on rumrunner is one of the most fully documented and detailed 1/10th scale builds ever. The resulting boat is simply incredible. It is under the build contest thread.

When you get signed up the post is here:

Just to peak your interest here are some pics from that build (yes those are inlayed Mahogany planks).

Don't forget to reverse motor rotation as well.

That beautiful Merlin V12 in TC's Bud was scratch built from wood!

I got the thread and signed up for the site but I am still waiting for the authorization email. I can look at the build but the pictures are locked and say I dont have authorization. I was thinking it was reverse it makes sense. I cant wait to start. I havent done a wood build i awhile. I built the Dumas Chris Craft barrel back and did the inlaid mahogany as well. It is a great look. I wish we could get more people interested in these hydros. They are really cool.
