    Default Sponson angle

Is there an advantage to having "straight , flat " sponsons as apposed to sponsons that are on a slight angle for turning. This question is for a SAW hull only and any advantage for top end speed. My PT 45 has angled sponsons and do not sit flat on a table.

I guess you are referring to the flat plane Technology of the Jae's riggers.......for saw the less wet riding surface means higher top speed. In the other hand my SGX's (not flat) trimmed for saw are also fast .Saw is a complete diferent world with many variables involved that we have to consider: light weight, sponsons's angle, strut angle, specific propellor and a perfect balance between aero/hidrodynamic.Gill

Yes I can attest to that. My PT is at 106mph and took 4 years to get there and god knows how much money. But that sponson angle I always questioned. At this point I would not start cutting up the hull again for a possible failure unless I new for sure.
