    Default Ferari Arno XI Hydro.

Bought this 38" static display model quite some time ago & started fitting R/C gear to it as a fun sport boat. Then it lay dormant for months collecting dust until last week when I decided to finish it off. I was going to run it on 6s as it is a big heavy wooden boat. But the council at the lake where it will mostly run has limited us to 4s max. So that's what she is running.
    Turnigy 4082 1600kv motor swinging an M645 on 4s.
This video was its third run on Saturday.

Just thought it might interest a few of you guys.
The original boat did hold the world straight line speed record for the 800kg class back in 1953 and that record still stands today, I think.

I like it, Looks nice and scale running.
But I would have to put a driver in it.

You are not wrong there srislash. Those rocks up the back straight have claimed many victims.
    My motto is
"Stay off the rocks...unless they are floating in a good 12 year old Scotch".

We call that track 'The Boondall Bull Ring'.

    Lenny.
Yep. A good scale speed. We did run it on 6s for a quick test with an M445 prop but it just looked plain wrong. Too fast & a bit skittish.
Could have spent some time to dial it in a bit better but there was no point as it is going to be a 4s boat now.
For next weekend I should have some ride plates on the sponsons to level them out a bit. At the moment, one sponson has a slight hook, & the other has a slight convex shape to it.
I did have a driver but it just wasn't in there for that run. He'll be back in there next weekend.

    Cheers.
    Paul.

    That's food for thought.

    Thanks Chief.
I think that's a good looking speed for a vintage boat. Originally designed as a straight runner with such a short after plane, I'm surprised that she corners as well as she does.

Just a bit of an update.
Ride plates have been added & it really freed up the hull.
A photographer (Clive) came along & was trying out a new camera & he sent me a few of the pics.
Here's a few. It's a pity the driver wasn't in the airborne shot.
