    Default joysway mono x motor

I recently bought a Joysway super mono x, it was great for the first run with a 3s lipo but after just 3 packs the ESC gave up!

I already ordered a SK 35a esc and still waiting for it to arrive here in South Africa.

I have a question to other Mono x owners, how is the stock motor with 3s lipo 1800-2200mah? These are the lipos that I have for the boat.

Have anyone broken their stock motor? I searched most forums and found out that there are no other direct replacement other than the Joysway or Atomik Barbwire motor. But these motors are expensive for just a small motor!

I put Turnigy 3600kv's in both my joysway's and they're cheap, direct fit and extremely fast!

@Timmy, could you please post a link of that Turnigy motor?

I'm thinking of using this one:

will this motor work even without watercooling?

It will work but the turnin. Motor will be much faster. Mine are rockets on 2s batteries even. Watecooling is better for boats and the mono set up will mount straight onto the can. Check out the green sea rider inside pic on my profile. It's the same deal. I will post the link to the motor tomoz. It's 3 am here. I paid less than 20 bucks for that motor. He carefully with the rec though cause this motor is 48 max amps.

It's an xk2850-B-3600kv brushless inrunner. You will find it in hk boat motors. It's not hard to find.

Thanks Timmy but I think my seaking 35a esc can't handle that motor.

Yea, I'm using a seaking 60amp doesn't even get warm. However the turnigy 60 amp is exactly the same but cheaper.(I've got both)

Does this boat use an outrunner motor stock? How did you get a inrunner to fit?

So can I do this on my barbwire?

Shartspartin, I just wrote you a comprehensive reply and tried to post it but it wouldn't let me, I had to refresh. That's annoying. So the short answer is yes, yes and yes it still self rights. The hulls for mini mono, barbwire and warrior lite are all the same with the same mounting points. The only difference is the hardware mounted to it. In your case you would need to buy the watecooling mount off the warrior lite as a spare part. However, if you want a cheap watercooled motor straight swap for yours, I would just buy an ADS300. It has internal watercooling and 3600kv. Only weighs 67gms! If the can is not too big, you could also use the 300xl or 400l. I have all these motors, they are little screamers. My 300 is just sitting in the cupboard. But check my profile for the blue boat. It has ADS 400 in it and it flies!

This is my daughter's warrior lite. I'm going to put the turnigy inrunner in this too. Shartspartin note the watercooling mount and also the unused holes for the atomic mount!! I also have a mini mono x no pics yet.
