Looking for a Top Speed 3 Conversion Thread

Hi Guys,

I am trying to help out a new guy in my local area. Does anyone have a good link for a detailed thread converting a Top Speed 3 for electric power. I have done several searches, but didn't find on that was real detailed with pictures.

I did a thread on it a few years back but can't find it. Here are a few old pics of mine.

I loved the way this boat ran. Turned great, ran fast and rarely blew over. It could hang with the best of the big dollar glass and WOF tunnel boats and it won it's fair share of races. I did blue print the sponson bottoms. A few things I would do differently. I would push the rear of the radio box and steering servo back another inch (just like Tim did). With the way it was configured (with the esc under the servo and the battery as far back as I could get it) I was barely able to get the CG back enough. If you want to put the servo in the front of the box, CG issues wont be a problem. I've done tunnels with servo's in the front, servos in the back. I've used pull-pull cables and 440 rods and all the configurations worked fine. I've stripped servo gears in tunnels with a 645mg but never the 985mg. Also, this hull is notorious for cracking at the seam across the back of the transom. To strengthen it, lay a layer of glass or CF cloth all the way across the back of the transom (including the sponsons). I consider this a must. Throw a Sholund 42x55 with a UL1 set up in her and you'll have one happy camper.
