Antenna ?

My Tactic TTX240 has no range, will any 2.4 antenna work,or just a Tactic? Any one else have problems with the TTX240 radio?

These are cheap radios, but when they work they work. They are sensitive to voltage, low transmitter batteries will drastically effect the range. Don't trust the light on the transmitter! The receiver is also voltage sensitive, change all the batteries first. There is no antenna on the receiver, you can't add one. They do go bad, I had one which worked great for a year, then the transmitter suddenly stopped working. I finally just replaced it with a real radio.

What range do you get? Is the boat hull made with carbon fiber? Is the receiver mounted high up in the hull, or low down?

range 6ft rx is good,tried it with another tx. want to replace the antenna,before buying a new radio
