Here's an early test run of the GP400.
I've since put a 1600kv motor in it with an X646/3 prop & she travels a bit quicker. Made for some great racing on the Weekend.

I've managed to dial most of that skip out of it in the corners.
I'll try & get some video of it with the 1600kv setup the next time she's on the water.

Well at the practice day we got some video of it running with the TP Power 4092 1600kv motor.
Quite a bit faster in the straights but still slows down in the turns & starts hopping at the rear. Any suggestions on the cause of that would be appreciated?

3 blade giving you too much lift in rear, 648 2 blade?? Maybe turn fin angle??
Still looks good. Are you running a round bottom strut? That chopping in the turns looks like it did when I tryed the GP hulls with a flat bottom strut. Change it out if you are running a flat bottom strut. If its not that, then its your prop. I like 2 blades on those hulls! Mike

Jcald2000.
We did talk about that on the day. Thought it might be too much pitch. I was going to try a 1.4 pitch 3 blade & then a 2 blade but ran out of time & batteries. I did change the turn fin angle down a bit from the previous run because it lifted off too easily. That certainly kept the front down a bit better. But it didn't change the hopping in the turns.
Mike.
Thanks.
Yes, it is a round bottom strut. I guess I'll work my way up through the 2 blade props.
I notice that you have changed your kits to have the rudder on the right now. Is this part of the reason? I've been thinking of doing it to mine. I have a little 26" hydro with the rudder on the right & it seems to handle better in the turns.
