I have tried a few different props on my boat. I am applying what I know from my real boat setup bag o tricks and what I read on fe forums and from past RC boats. So far I have Ben doing most and all my prop testing on 4s. on 6s my hull is a handful and tends to blow over way to easy. So I decided to dial it in on 4s and move to 6s when I'm happy. I have a feeling my ideal 4s prop and set up will differ from my 6s setup.
when I'm trying a prop I take the boat out run it adjust the strut to suite the conditions go back out. And adjust more if I have to.
1.The stock proboat prop out of the box yuck. It blows out on the start and in turns real bad un sharpened and un balanced to get a base line.
2. Proboat stock sharpened and balanced and detounged with the tips cupped over a bearing just a little bit. It is a rocket out of the hole and works well out of the turns but it killed my top speed 3 to 4 mph. The hull appears to want to lift the bow to much on booth proboat props. I'm guessing the proboat props are a form of a bow lift prop
3. Aquacraft grim racer 42 55 s&b this prop is faster out of the hole to top end but it has a lot of bow lift and the hull wants to blow over
4. Octura x642 this seams to be the best prop I've had on my hull the bow stays down and it's a rocket out of the hole. I have not had GPS in my hull yet with this prop.
I'm looking for other props to try. the m445 is one I'm looking to try.
I have a few questions as well 1 do water conditions like hard/soft water affect propping a RC boat. 2 does water temp affect proping does it allow more prop load ie a bigger prop or more pitch.
