Hi all
One of the cell in my 3S battery got damaged because it went below the safe voltage : (
Can I just use the remaining 2 cells, basically convertinging a 3S battery to a 2S battery?
If yes how can I do it?
Thanks a lot.

What do you mean it got damaged,
How low is the bad cells voltage ?
And yes it can be made in to a 2s pack,
How good can you solder ?
Hi Lenny
Its my Turnigy 3S transmitter battery.
It got damaged when I left the transmitter on overnight. There is no visible physical damage but one of the battery is showing 0.1v and the pack does not want to charged.....
I would like to convert it to 2S to use it in my small Eco boat that has a brushed motor. How to do that?
My soldering skills are ok I guess.
Thanks
JC
Ok,
You could try to bring it back up may be.
But you would have to charge it on Nimh on a low setting and it may come back up slowly.
You may have to do the charge a couple times to bring it back.
Than if the cell gets to 3.0 you could try the lipo charge again.
Hears a video on 3s to 2s mod that may help you some if the Nimh does not work.

And a 4s to 3s mod.

Thanks Lenny
That's what I was looking for.
I will keep you guys posted.
Hi Lenny or fellow boater
Need your expertise again. I don't know which battery is dead because there are no physical damage to any of them.
My turnigy voltage indicator says its battery No 1 that is dead.
How do I know which of the three batteries is No1?
Thanks
You need a volt meter/multimeter to test the leads on each cell, you also need it so you can connect the two good cells the right way.
I have a couple of these... http://www.electrifly.com/miscproducts/gpmm3210.html - it will tell you which cell is dead. Will also balance the pack, albeit rather slowly.
DO NOT get one of these... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCVEU&P=7 - looks the same as the cellmatch but doesn't work the same. Soon as all cells are balanced it goes to sleep. Have to unplug the batt and plug it back it to wake it up. I returned it the next day and told my LHS to get me a cellmatch.
