    Default Another motor and ESC

    Hi guys,

I am looking to take out the stock Dynamite 80A ESC and 1800 KV motor from my Impulse 31 V2, and to replace them by a Leopard 3674 1900 KV motor and (probably) a Hobbywing Seaking 120A V2 ESC.

Question about the motor: the Leopard is a 4-pole motor, the stock Dynamite a 6-pole. Does this matter that much in a boat and do you think I'll notice the decrease in torque (if any)?
Is it overall a good choice for a motor?

Question about the ESC: the Hobbywing Seaking 120A V2 only has 2 capacitors. Will that suffice? I run primarily on 4S, planning on using the above Leopard motor, everything else stock (prop, etc.), but with occasional 6S runs as well.
Or is it mandatory to add like 2 extra capacitors?

Or... do you think the Seaking 180A will do a far better job in the above setup? You see, I am looking for a slightly upgraded system, but foremost an absolutely cool-running and reliable setup.

    Thanks guys!

i have a leopard 3674 1700 kv on 5s in this boat ,only using a 40 mm carbon prop because i'm still breaking in my lipo's
    120A Seaking with external bec
it is a lot faster then the stock motor with this set-up

motor ,lipo ,esc and ec-5 connectors : barely warm
    caps :about 45°C

next thing is to test a 42 carbon k-series graupner prop and a 43 mm cnc,

would not use a 1900 Kv motor on 6s :is going to kill your hardware fast
would not use an unbalanced stock prop either!

What size in mm is the stock stainless prop?

Do you run extra caps on your Seaking 120A?

no extra caps , have used this controller with the stock 1800kv motor and a turnigy typhoon 500 outrunner on 5s , still in perfect condition

the stock prop is a 40.6mm but with 1.6 pitch

graupner k-series carbon props are 1.4 as the cnc prop
