    Default turnigy typhoon 500 outrunner

used 5s with the stock motor but was always a little disappointed with the speed ( max +/- 62 km/u with 42 carbon)
tried 4 different props but makes little difference
cells 4000 40 c where always rather hot ,as my ec5 connectors

changed the stock 1800 kv 6 poles inrunner with a turnigy typhoon 500 1800kv outrunner that i had

    yeah man!!

speed up to 68 km/u with the same prop, this motor a lot cooler,ec5 connectors and the lipo's barely warm
    run-time almost 1/2 longer!!

going to make a watercooled motor mount so i can prop up

this realy is a great motor!!

    Hey,
    Good for you.
My buddy run one in a SV27 on 4s and it was running great to,
Lot of power and low amp draw to.
Than he tried this motor for the first time and I got it on video running,
And it was a hand full, But a little tweaking to it and it was running pretty nice.
Get some video's of yours running.

    thanks

i put it in with little hope for better results ;it's 3mm shorter then the stock motor and weights about 40 grams less

but it's far better then i had hoped for !!

was not so much impressed by then increase in speed but more in the way it's so 'fuel efficient", with only the aircooling i think you can run the 42 mm carbon prop the entiry 5s 4000 mah lipo without stopping

when i made a proper watercooled mount i'll try it with a 43 mm cnc prop ( the stock motor ,lipo's and ec5 almost melted with this prop)

You should go to 5.5 all the way,
And the setups will be much happier and I think they will run better and cooler to.
Outrunners have a fine line so be careful how you push them,
They are efficient to a point and than they get hot.
200f running is about normal for them.

you got a point there Lenny

the reason i use ec 5 is because that sometimes the kids of my girlfriend run my boats and i wanted something that they ( and me ) can not connect wrong :-)

hard to believe that this is a 31$ motor ,used it in a 26 inch mono on 5s and a 37.5mm prop but it was a big surprise for me that it can move this heavy boat in such a way!
