Default MG 29 V2 Battery Suggestions for Longer Run Times

    Hi there,

I am a newbie who just ordered an MG29. I'll run it stock, but have tonnes of questions regarding batteries and chargers. Here is what I want from my batteries:

-Cheap-ish (looking to order off HobbyKing.com)
-I really want long run times so lots of kids can have a turn
-Really really cool temperatures on the long runs
-Easy charging - If I can have them all on the same plugs that would be great (EC3, 5mm bullet, ect). This woul dbe nice but I will consider it a bonus.

I thought two of these might provide some great run times..

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...mpatible_.html

    Turnigy nano-tech 10000mah 2S 40~80C Lipo Pack (TRA2854 Stampede/Rustler/Bandit compatible)
    Capacity: 10000mAh
    Voltage: 2S2P / 2 Cell / 7.4V
    Discharge: 40C Constant / 80C Burst
Weight: 499g (including plug & case)
    Dimensions: 137 x 41 x 43mm
    Discharge Plug: TRX plug

Would 2 of those work well? Could I get 15 minutes? Would the run everything really cool? Would 3S or 4S run cooler? Temperature is a big priority.
Or would I be better off running 2S2P?

Would an IMAX B6 Charger work ok? Can it charge 2 batteries at once? Or 4 if I go 2S2P?

So many questions. This is gonna be FUN ! Thanks so much for your help. Jeremy

Those come with the Traxxas connector. As long as you don't mind changing
    connectors...

Heavier packs will affect ride attitude and handling.

Default MG 29 V2 Battery Suggestions for Longer Run Times'

Hi Pyro, thanks for the reply.

I have been have a devil of a time finding batteries with EC3 connectors, so assumed I would be soldering either way.

I don't mind the increased weight if I have to. Want to hit the 15 minute mark if possible.

Anyone else have any batteries or thoughts?

    Thanks in advance, Jeremy

2s2p isn't enough voltage. You will need to run two 2s packs for 4s1p
Or two 4s packs for 4s2p.

Yes, 4S2P. Thank-you for that Heaving Earth. So would those 10K mah packs work for what I want? Cool 15 minute runs? Would 3S or 4S run cooler? Thanks in advance, Jeremy

I probably wouldn't mostly because of charge time on the packs.you can get 10000 mah by using two 4s 5000 mah packs parallel, but you would need to change how the stock esc is wired. Plus running parallel is usually preferred because of longer cooler runs

Thanks for the feedback Heaving Earth. So 4S 5000 parallel would be cooler than 2S 1000? Why would the run time be longer?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeremy

Sorry what I meant to say is longer run times vs two 5000mah 2s packs.

But versus the Turnigy nano-tech 10000mah 2S 40~80C Lipo Pack the run times would be about the same hey? This seems simpler for me as a beginner. If I did go with these, would they run hotter? Any chance of damage? Thanks, Jeremy.

Also depends on what charger you have. Go with the 2s if that's what you want to do
