Default 7 cell SV27 with 6 cell batteries

I have a stock brushless SV27 and I want to set it up with two 7 cell batteries and with a 4 cell batt for the receiver. Can I still run the boat with 6 cell batteries even if the set up is for 7 cell batteries?

RAYMUND629 ...Yes you can run 6 cells 2p with BEC battery and up to 7 cells 2p without bec battery. I would not recommend going for 8 cells 2p though without a BEC battery, because then you may run into trouble and may even burn the BEC on the ESC.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Sorry but i'm a newbie to rc boats. What do you mean by bec batt? Is that the 4 cell batt attached to receiver?

I'll be ordering from OSE the battery box. And l will be using a rechargeable ENERGIZER batteries. How long do you think would be the run time on this batteries on the BEC?

I am not sure as it depends on how many mah does a battery have to think of good runtime, but I believe that if you are not a weight maniac like me ,then you can buy the 2200 6 cells 2p from OSE here. From 2200 mah and up you can do great in terms of runtime. Runtime also depends on many other factors as well. Ex. boats weight, prop size, motor ,ESC,etc.
BEC batteries may last a few runs only also depending on their mah. I suggest ,buying from 1000 mah and up for BEC batts.
