Last picture posted above-
the screw sticking out of the top of the stinger, that needs to be screwed in and then tightened up. the way its sitting now, the strut can still move upwards.
Not sure if you have caught that yet or fixed it yet.

any pics of the inside? have you used backing plates on all the hardware?
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.
ill have picks up when I get my parts. For backing plates you mean metal pieces so the screws wont indent in the wood. If that’s what its called yes I used a k&s stainless steel piece

any chance in replacing the ghetto trim tabs
nope they are staying ghetto hahhhha
just a kid with a super hawaii project
Keep the ghetto trend going, use some duct tape to cover all the holes in the transom and do the boat up in some "custom" Old English bottle label graphics.
BOATS CAN FLY AND SHOULD!
I totally dig the backwards anchornuts !!! Regular stainless nylock nuts would of bean more better in my opinion
Oooops I forgot, LOL
All pun asside the swiss cheese super hawaii'n is looking kewl
the reason the anchornuts are backwards is becouse the bolts are a different thread than all my other stainless bolts its weird but im going to see if i can change that.thanks guys the boat is almost finished and will get pics up one of these days.

the speedmaster hardware comes with ASE std thread not metric like the majority of the other r/c stuff. Just get some 1/8 thick aluminum to make your backing plate and thread it like I did on my DF33 clone.

i used a 1/8 piece of stainless steel...is that ok instead of aluminum>i dont see any problems.i know aluminum is lighter though but im not worried about a tinny bit of extra weight

SS is a major PITA to drill and tap, make sure you have oil and go very slow with the tap backing it out several time during the tapping process (have extra taps on hand as you will break one or more)

i just drilled it using a drill press.i did one at a time with 5 mins between each to let the bit cool down.i broke one bit but it was already beggining to dull so i realy didnt care if it broke.

if you think the drilling was bad wait until you tap it
