Default Want to run 7 cell batteries

Just got a SV and running with two 6cell batts. I want to run with 7 cell batts. Besides disconnecting the red wire of the receiver, what are the things that i'll need to run my SV with 7 cell batteries?

Isn't a 4 cell batt pack needed to power the receiver.

I just plopped in my 7 cell packs and went for it. I didn't disconnect anything because the guy at my LHS said that was just for guys that want to run a separate RX pack.
However this thing draws alot of amps, I cooked a cell in my 7 cell packs runnin them in the supervee. Man are batteries hot after running them in this thing.

So you mean the 4 cell pack isn't necessary. So the batteries really gets hot. How many minutes would be the run time so the batts won't melt? Will it not damage the ESC and the motor if we run 7 cell packs directly?

Hello, yes its possible im running two 7 cell 3300 elite packs with a seperate reciever pack from radio shack and four rechargable AA batteries. I epoxied some popsicle sticks to the bottom of the pack to raise it up a little so if water gets in it wont wet the pack and i velcrowed it to the front. It runs strong and has no problems. just make sure to oil a bit the motor and re grease the shaft after a few runs.
