Hi,
Do you know this ESC, is it a good value? Thanks
Hi,
Do you know this ESC, is it a good value? Thanks

What do you mean?
I would love to know too, it's been on my mind to ask. I just wish the "continuous amp" is rated higher, say 180A at the very least. I like Seaking 120a and 180a Low V ESC, for the price you can't beat them.
I am putting back to service a PT 45 ( Neu 2215 1y) and was looking for a ESC that can handle 6s with ease, this was tempting ( price wise) but 130a is way too low, got instead a CC Hydra Ice 240 which can handle up to 8s.
This is just my humble opinion, if I am off base, by all means correct me. Thanks.
...wish there is more review/discussion on this particular ESC.
I have had very good experience with the Seaking 130A HV . We ran them in our 1/8th scales at the FE nats. no problems . I have one in an Insane Gas mono with a NUE 2215 1.5 Y on 10 cells . Ive only raced it once , but test run it several times . Like the Sea king 180 A it needs to stay dry . Gary Rose ran one in his 43" DF Sniper , Big Leopard on 8 cells . It quit when it got wet , but worked again when it dried out.
I run the Insane open with the ESC , RX , and Rudder servo in a radio box ala nitro and gas boats .

Ok, for you this is a good ESC. I want to use them in a 50" mono twin setup with 2x10S, I' ve got Seaking 120A and 180A and I like them.
This is for this 50'' deep vee Fountain P1 hull
I understand, I was merely relaying my story in the hope that someone would give us some info that you were looking.
@Flyguy55: thank you very much, you have given me just the info I wanted, next time I will consider that, I got the CC because it was a deal I can't refuse and I wanted one for a long time, now armed with your info I have more choices in the future.
My buddy tunnelvision is using a 130a hv in his MG on 6s and some other boats and loves them so far,
Just need to water proof them like most esc.
I also hope Seaking builds a 180 or 200 plus . My hull is 43" long . It was as fast down the straights as the fastest gas monos . This was in Open Oval at a NAMBA Dist 19 race . I had to prop down to control heat .Ive had several other brands fail , including a CC 180 HV on 6S that ran fine in a Gas Jersey Skiff on a Seaking 180 LV .
What size bullet would u put on something like this or a 180 amp seaking? Paired with a tacon 4074 what size bullets would u recommend??
I use 5.5 mm, so far works great.
5.5 Are the standard for very good FE setups.
+1
5,5mm everywhere: charger, batteries, esc, etc....
So u wouldn't recommend leaving 4 mm bullets even if they come with it?
No,
Use 5.5MM on all Chargers,Cells, Esc's, Motor's, and they will stay happy,
On mini boats you can run deans on the cells and 3.5MM on motor & esc.
The 4MM have MORE resistance than 3.5MM and the 4MM are the worst plugs to use,
In less you like this.
Alright I will go with 5.5 mm gold played connectors! But I wanna go 5.5 on everything but right now going with deans battery plugs is the easiest most versatile plug I can go with at the moment :/
So what boat is this for ?
And what S cell and C rating are going to run ?
And on what setup ?
Mystic I'm assuming by s cell this the correct answer, I am gonna run 2 2s 40c gens ace 5000 mah in series, Setup: tacon 4074 2150 kv, seaking 180 and at the moment an x645 but plan on getting an m445
On deans, That is not good.
They will get hot and melt if you pull to many amp on them.
The deans is the weakest link in the setup, They will only handle 50 amps.
What is going on the esc to motor ?
5.5 mm bullets, what would u say about traxxas plugs? I might be able to pull of the bullet connector, the problem is that I don't have a sauder gun nor do I think I wanna get one at the moment
How do u set a series setup with bullets???
One thing you're gonna need in this hobby, is a soldering iron. They're cheap!
Also I like a mini torch to for 5.5 bullets and shrink wrap to.

Ya I know there cheap it's just myself learning and my concern for safety! If I setup a series connection with bullets would I be able to shrink wrap the 2 wires together so I don't " loose the loose cable?
The two wires that come out of the battery need not be shrink wrapped together, you need them separated so you can connect them to the ESC as well. Alot depends on the location of the batt.packs and the ESC, but in general I haven't seen any batteries with bullet plugs having the wires bind together, unless that is not what you mean.
The most important thing is you need to get protective caps for the bullet plugs, I make them myself out of shrink wraps but I believe Kintec sells them:http://kintecracing.com/Connectors___Adapters.html
Ok and I've heard people say to solder one male and one female to the batteries???
The HobbyWing 130A/180A HV have an integrated anti spark, this ESC need only a cap bank, easy to build, 4 x 1000µF 63 Volts

Illtry to explain this as best as possible since my phone won't upload photos! But back to my series connector question, so when u solder something in series there are the 2 normal wires coming out of the esc each going to one plug, then there is a third stray wire connecting the two plugs, if I replace the plugs with bullets, what can I do to insure I don't lose the third "stray" wire?? Would I be able to shrink wrap it to the the other positive/negative wires? Or would that create problems??
