Thanks guys for all of the positive feedback. It's setup exactly like Doug's "P-Mono" (Special thanks to Doug Smock for the overall hardware setup). As soon as I can get the hardware back in it and get a spare set of hands at the pond, I'll get some video of this baby running.

I almost forgot... Here's two more SpeedCraft P-Mono's.

    Enjoy!

This is my first time seeing this thread. If this hull is better than Dougs older P mono, all the competition is in trouble. I know the fiberglass used in these hulls is lots stronger than cheaper Delta Force type fiberglass.

    Hey Keith.
These are some great running monos.
Have you considered racing with us next month? We'd love to have you in Atlanta again.

I saw these boats with my own eyes this past weekend down in Atlanta. I found myself talking smack with Mr. Smock about someone using the term "game changer" on another board in reference to a new product for gas boats. I hesitate to use the term myself but all I know is when I went to Atlanta last year, I had a very competitive P-Mono. This year many in D13 switched to the Speedcraft.......and I was left in the dust. It's a good handling, FAST boat that does well in race water. The build quality is the best I've seen. This boat is built STRONG. When I got home back to Virginia, I wanted to throw my hull in the trash, but I'll run it till the end of the season. Then I'll be ordering a Speedcraft.

    Chilli,

I'm glad you and your son made it to the "A" and it was good to put a face with the name I'm sure Mike Whitley would be glad to put you in one of these anytime you're ready. Give him a shout.

    Take Care,

    Geoff

Thanks Geoff. We had a great time in Atlanta. Sorry I didn't get to chat with you much. We'll try again next year. I'll probably give Mike a call in the fall and have Doug bring it up to Elizabeth City when he comes up for SAW's. Who did the paint on your boat??

That's cool Chilli. There will be another time. Get that "SpeedCraft" mono... A member of our club named Rick Bellinger did my paint. He does awesome work.

Those Speedcraft's are as pretty as they were fast. I'll consider having Rick do the paint if he is willing. Do me a favor and keep Norman and Smock separated. Those guys are a bad influence on each other....

It sure is a quick little boat. I'll do my best with Doug & Norman, they're practically inseparable

Hey Doug, I'm starting the interior work on the Speedcraft. What length do you like from the shaft side of the motor face to the transom (measured from the inside)? I'll be using a Insane FE mount mounted to some 1/8 ply with blind nuts, then epoxied into the hull. Going to do this build a little arse backwards. Will mount all the interior stuff while I wait for a new Road Runner sponson to be built. Then I'll send everything to paint before I mount the transom hardware.

Word on the street is John Finch got his hands on a certain green Rico Mono to race in D12 next year.

    Mike,
With the motor sitting at the correct angle it's 5-7/8" from the inside of the transom to the top of the motor.

    Sold off your mono Kent?

He tapped out when I told him I purchased a Speedcraft. LOL Seriously, he's working on a new project. I think I'm more excited about it than he is. I'll let him elaborate.

    Thanks for the info Doug.

Thanks Doug. As you know I've had rotten luck with the P-Mono's. This one looks like a winner out of the box. Prepare to do battle in July..

Kent, You can pit for me any time. Looking forward to seeing the new boat.
