Dr. J, I got the frames in today. I test fit a set together and I noticed something. The long side lengths and the center cross brace fit together well. The motor box went together relatively easily. The front T- Brace went together easily as well. That leaves two pieces, which I assume one is a transom doubler that connects to the long length that is left that plugs into the center cross brace some how.

I think I see the slot that was cut for it to plug into, but that slot is directly underneath the hole for the cf tube, which the slot on the transom double is offset by 1/4" or so....
I'm not entirely clear on your description. I'll post more photos in a day or two. All the parts fit perfectly in my set. Double-check the existing photos. There should be two turn fin doublers and two transom doublers. They are small and may be hiding in the corners of the envelope that the parts were in. There is a center stringer that looks like a ladder that goes from the center bulkhead to the transom. The straight portion of this faces up, the portion that has a small angle in it faces down. The stuffing tube attaches to a portion of this.

DO NOT GLUE ANYTHING until you are 100% clear on how the parts fit together.

    Double-check this photo:

Ya, the center stringer goes back to the transom, and there is another piece that closes off the 'rectangle' at the back of the hull. That center stringer is offset on the transom end, but it isn't offset on the cross brace end.

I wonder if the laser guy used the old drawing? Post a photo of it, and I'll send you another if it is off.

well, the issue is that on the center cross brace the the slot for that center stringer is in the middle of the cross brace, right under/over the CF tube, but on the back/transom part of the box, the slot is off center by about 1/4".

I'll try and get a pick up when I get home and I'll check the second one to see if they match up.

edit: I ordered from you last, and the frames beat the hulls and motor/esc here! Nice.

That center brace is supposed to be right over the CF tube, but the entire motor assembly should have been shifted 1/4" as well. I think I better check all the remaing ones I have. I just grabbed one for my own build and it was correct. I didn't check every one in the group. I'm thinking there may be a mix-up somewhere. I'll double-check the drawings when I get home tonight.

5.7 oz. is about all that is readily available. You want stiff? That will do it for you.

I just checked the drawings that went to the laser guy, and they are correct. Here are a couple of photos of the frame temporarily installed in the hull. Maybe they will help.

ok, I think I'm good. I see where the offset is on the center cross brace. I don't think I had the offsets in the same direction.

I think I see how this is supposed to fit together now. I guess it would help if I had my hulls so I could match the curves in the wood to the curves in the hull.

Look at the part of the center bulkhead that goes in the sponson. On one side there is a solid area where the turn fin will attach (see previous photos in this thread). The motor is offset towards this side. It is possible to put this piece in backwards, so be careful before you add glue.

    Ah, that explains it.

I got his frames for the Hydro, so I'll use yours for the others.

    Stickers?

    Edit:

Dr. J, what kind of connectors did you use on the motor/esc leads? I noticed they didn't come with anything.

I use 3.5 mm bullets on the motor/ESC side. Male on the motor, female on the ESC.

I managed to get the framework waterproofed, so maybe this weekend the frame will get glued in.

I've been busy with other things lately. I finally had a chance to stick the reinforcement on the tunnel floor. I weighted the hull down on a flat board to help keep it from twisting.

    http://www.dmc-ca.com/

DMC is also my source for the 4:1 epoxy.

That was the last of my mat as well and the weave has been messed up before I put it down, so it isn't as pretty as I would like, but it is still functional.

Use a couple of layers of the .5 oz. stuff in the tunnel, and add some extra layers in the motor mount area, and you may have it about right.
