    Default Wood scale Merlin motor- waterseal?

    I'm building a 1/10 scale Merlin motor for my shovelnose from a laser cut kit. What do you like to use to seal the wood before painting?

    shellac makes a decent sealer

    Does the shellac cause any issues when painting later?

    thinned epoxy

    I use System Three

    System three also makes a product that is a thin epoxy for fixing rot damage which works well also.
