Default Max kv motor for my bj 26 ss

Can anyone tell me the max kv motor i can run with my stock 45amp esc, i'm running 2-(2s) 5000mah 50c lipos in series so (4s)?? Sorry, i'm still catching up on lipo speak. Should i get an inrunner/outrunner, any particular brand?? Also looking for prop advice, whats the best upgrade, 'bang for the buck', size prop i can use with the stock shaft, and where can i get them, thanks.

I would upgrade the esc before the motor. What do you want out of the boat in terms of speed, runtime?

I get bored with stock setups easily so i would like to go with a motor/esc/prop combo that i can run with the lipo's i have already. My gps shows 33mph stock but i have to program the esc for 100% throttle and get a top speed. I would like to see 50mph+ if thats possible using 2x2s 5000mah 50c batts. What do you reccomend for the esc upgrade?

Get a Turnigy/Seaking 120a and drop one of these 'few remaining' Feigao 10XL's in it for only 59 bucks. Then I'd throw an x642 on it and GO!!!!!!!!!!! Inexpensive setup.

Thanks for the info, i was thinking about getting the seaking 120a esc but i wasn't sure about the motor, for the x642 prop, does that come sharpened and balanced or will i have to do it?

The s + b x642 is out of stock at the moment. If you feel this setup is ok, i would probably get a graupner K prop to test out different sizes since they are cheap, the x642 just hits me right to get the most out of the 10XL..........it'll spin an x645 too, its just kinda big for a 26" boat...........your call though

If i was to upgrade to 6s (2-3s) would the setup you are suggesting be able to handle the extra power? Would there be any benefit to a battery upgrade, speed wise? If so, what rating do you suggest? Thanks.

You can run the Feigoa I linked on 6s with a small prop..........but isnt the BJ equipped with a u joint outdrive? If so I wouldnt put those kind of rpms thru it...................I'd go with the 4s and just use a larger prop.

I have the bj ss model with a fixed strut assembly and offset rudder. Would that handle 6s, would i get more speed?

You can try 6s with something in the x438 range.
