Default Good news and bad news

Things have been pretty rough here.
I lost my youngest brother just before the Valdosta SAWs. Shawn was just thirtyseven and left behind a wife and two children, a three year old daughter, and thirteen year old son. He was my best bud next to Casey.
By buddy David Watson passed away the Monday after the SAWs. David loved his fleet of Chris Crafts, Lobster boat, and sail boats. David left behind a wife and two grown children.
Davids funeral was last Saturday. On Sunday we recieved the call that my mother inlaw Ms. Sally had passed away. Sally left behind seven children and fifteen grand children. She was a great lady who treated me like one of her own.
Man, somebody throw us a rope!!!!!!........

On the brighter side, "good news", I finally had some time to get back to work on the hydros. The insides are painted, servos, hardware, ect are installed and they're almost ready.
Hopefully, I'll be able to post pics of the finished boats by next weekend!!

Thanks Steve Rogers (flightPower USA) and John Snider (Torkit) for the RX. packs and voltage regulators!
Thanks also to my buds John Snider and Jimmy Banks for your help soldering up the ESCs. That saved me a ton of time!!
Ned Schmidt, thanks for hooking us up with custom couplers on such a short notice. They are awesome, as usual!!!

    Here are a few pics,

    Doug,
it's rough when such close people are taken away too early... hang in there man,
things will get better, remember, everything cyclical and there are ups and downs in life.
Obviously you are in a down side right now... goods things WILL come!
The boats look great!!!! I wish I lived closer to see all the action and some of you "pros" doing the deed
Thanks also to the people that collaborated to the assembly.

Doug has spent some serious time makin sure these boats are EXACTLY identical. When you have the best boat drivers in north america doin an IROC race, you better have your *!***!***!***!** together.

    THANKS DOUG!

Thanks Steven, and thanks again for your help with this project.
Everyone I have talked to had a blast and Chris did his usual good job as the CD.

Phil added some video bits to the bottom of the page.

    Hi Andy,
Chris H. Posted this on RRR.

" I thoroughly enjoyed hanging with all the guys. It was good to meet Mark and Eric and to see the other guys again, many of which I haven't seen in years.

A big thanks to everyone who helped Ron and I put this race together and all the sponsors for their generous support. I know it has already been said but Steve Rogers of Flight Power worked his tail off and went above a beyond. Also special thanks to Phil Pace of Vac-u-Boat for the great hulls and all the help and AWESOME pics he took. You can see a preview here http://www.vac-u-boat.com/IROC_Shootout_2008.htm

    The result were as follows:
    1st Mark Anderson
    2nd Jerry Crowther
    3rd Doug Twaits Jr.
    4th Dick Crowe
    5th Steve Reesor
    6th Eric Bourlet

All drove hard and the racing had to be seen to be appreciated. It was nuts!!!

The main sponsors are all receiving one of the boats from the race. The one each gets was decided by a drawing.

    Flight Power/ blue
    Vac-u-Boat/ red
    Fuller's Fast Electrics/ mocha
    Neu Motors/ white
    Castle/ Green "

Thanks. I don't go there any more, but I appreciate the info. Ron asked me who I thought would win and I said Mark or Dick. I least I got it half right
