Revolt 30 maiden voyage last night

Well ran two runs back to back one with stock prop 36.7 mph, one with 45x68 prop 41.2 this prop which has run 45.7 mph. No thrust bearing everything gone over. Conclusion the magnets have gone weaker. I remember the first day it arrived it. Boat sitting in the stand if you turned the propeller it would almost come out of the stand. It does not even come close to that now. Today it ran 130F same temp as 45.7 run, but today water was smooth as glass. I do remember 1" chop on the 45.7 mph day. So that's my update not as bad as my bud's fried his Castle 60 amp ESC 1527 with 8s motor is real tight I am waiting to hear.
That's all tonight going to Evansville, IN @ 6.00 AM to watch some racing.

20 runs max and looking back over my data the motor almost always runs 130F so I added that info in my post. Dang

Mike, your current speeds with the stock vs 45x68 prop are almost exactly what mine are (mine 35.8 and 40.4). If you do get it back up please let me know, I will do the same to mine.

Hey Tom,
Just back from the races lots of great people from all over. I met David Hull very nice guy who had a 10s modified JAE boat racing for the first time. It ran great but hooked on the second lap and ended upside down. He had plenty of power and the twin and single Nitro and Gas guys where going to have there hands full LOL. He did say he just ran it setup for SAW and ran 103 mph. I had to leave before the next heat.

Maybe I was lucky running my boat on the first day as the water/weather conditions where perfect. The Revolt is a SOLID 38 MPH boat case closed!!!
Anything over 40 mph is a gift so if we all look at it this way a very hard boat to beat for the $$$$. Looking back on my first day of running 8.5.12 there was wind and the water had 1" chop but still the motor was singing 26,000. Like I said just running on the prop screaming. I am going to get a new 1800kv stock motor or the closest to the stock one so I can get back to solid 45's just because that is what I WANT. I will keep you posted.

It just might be that Mike Ball has as much time as I do with a "production" systems Revolt and maybe he can chime in too.

I think Brain B has also been able to get his boat in the mid 40 without this unknown loss of speed.

Hey Grim,
I will do it all Grim. Mine will still run 40+ with the 45x68 prop all day long what I meant to say is the boat is a solid 38 mph with prop it came with. I planned to try one more thing today but still recovering from Hobart seven hours on my feet is very long. Resting at home I thinking and thinking you know something stupid that I did. Well, after the first day in the water running 45.7 mph I thought I might add some foam pcs. under the deck plenty of room. I was just too tired today but here is what I have to do. Run the boat down load the data. Now pull out the foam which I hope made the front end too heavy killing the speed. One question where is the balance point from the transom? Brian B he is on here correct? I will call Jack tomorrow. I love this boat man! BOCA Ceramic Hybrid bearings arrived today but will wait until I get to the bottom of this mystery.

Sounds like a good time at the races.

Thanks for all your feedback with your experiences and changes. I'm pretty happy with 41mph, although a few more mph wouldn't hurt. I might try a 4s battery instead of two 2s. At some point in the future I would like to get an adjustable ESC. It was just recommended for me to try a HobbyWing Seaking 90-amp. My current ESC works well but would like to raise the LVC and it is not adjustable.

The older guys always helped me as a kid now I am the older guy 63 and believe in the big wheel theory what goes around comes around.
No problem you know we only go around once in this Great life, Like my Dad told me, you can be either part of the problem or part of the solution. He also told me all people are just people until they prove differently to you. If it has wheels or txt's you will have trouble with it. How right he was!!!! Mom Divorced him out of the blue when I was 11 Back to Boats Ha, I never ran my batteries down to bump or stutter Batteries 140F+ until chasing the missing mph. 41 mph is good but when in runs 44-46 mph it just dances on the the 45x68 prop and it is still very drivable it looks out of control and gets my heart racing. Makes me feel alive that's why I have to find it and get it back to 44-46 and I will leave the boat alone and start on my SAW boat. HobbyWing Seaking 90-amp as long as you can put 10 degree timing in the motor I guess it will be ok but I don't see a reason to spend more money on my boat. I get a good run time now. I think about the gas guys who tell me I can run 20 mins .....my arms will fall off LOL.

Looks pretty good and you can chose the motor timing I did not know that. In the rc car I played with too much timing hurt top end and made more heat. It's the sweet spot as with everything in life.

I ran last night with both my batteries stacked in the middle, I like it! Hardly no chine walking and handled very well. I think next time I buy batteries I will get 4s instead of two 2s

Cool. I would either buy another Grim 4s or Hyperion 4s. I ran other brands and these two run identical even though the Hyperion were 2s and I did the same as you stuck them in the middle on they sides. 4S is nice because of weight move it 1/2 either way and it makes a change to the running of the boat.

You guys should give the zippy compact 4s 35c 3300mAH packs, get two of these run in parallel in the bottom position (they fit perfect side x side) they combine to 6600mAH, 70c and easily handle the load even with a bigger prop. These packs are a great value, you can't go wrong iMO. I've used lipo's for many years, these packs in this config hold out better than most single 4s packs on the market, PS they come stock w/ 5.5 bullets which is nice too..
