You may be disappointed with the speed, as that is a big hull. You will need a lot of battery juice and very good ESCs and the motors may not cut, it might work on lower KV motors and 8S, prop selection etc.

Martin was saying to make sure you have some external antenna as the hull will block the signal, some 2.4 ghz systems have a small antenna on the receiver, it would slide right up into the red tube on your boat.

I will also follow this build with interest! Cool rudder that. How would the servo set-up for that look? With the Hobbyking 180's and a decent servo, this would work out to be an expensive build...

It looks like the boat has a 115mm rudder on it...very small for a boat that size. An upgrade in rudder in probably a good idea. Do you know that you can buy just that hull there too? Sometimes it's best to buy just the hull if you plan on upgrading it anyway. The motors will likely need to be mounted in a different place if you end up upgrading the power system.

Keith, what rudder would you recommend for a pull / pull setup?

Cost $42 to ship to the states. I have one on the way. FC has them for about $160ish plus shipping.

This thread is getting a bit confusing...
Why are you posting pics of other boats? Both the Daytona and Mystic you posted pics of are a lot different hulls than what you have. Aside from the fact that they are all catamarans, they have very little in common.

Are you just posting pics of stuff that you like?

some upgrades with the stingers, bigger motors and rudder. I did't add the motor mounts or mounting hardware for inside the boat.

Keith, in my post I asked what the HOR push-pull rudder would look like mounted. It's the same one in the author's previous post.
These ARTR cats is great for us that do not have the skill, time and tools to do a full install of mounts, stingers, struts, etc to a bare hull.

Sorry, I thought you were asking how it connected to the servo...
That is actually NOT the HOR rudder. The HOR rudder is a chineese copy of that one. They do use similar pull/pull system (a push/pull would not have cables) where the cables hook to the servo, but the overall quality of the part is not the same.
If you get the HOR rudder, do some testing on the cables before you use it. They easily seperate from the shafts and may need to be re-glued.
I still don't get why he posted a pic of Joe's Daytona...maybe it was just supposed to be a pic of the ESCs and he liked the way they looked in that build???

Fighter cat has (or had, not sure if they still do) a 10 cap bank that I used for HV and a 5 cap bank for LV.

    Here...

The smaller rudder is the HOR copy, the larger rudder is German made. The HOR rudder is a copy of the design to a degree, but still differs. For instance, all the little bolts that are on the HOR rudder aren't really bolts at all. There are actually two larger bolts on the HOR that hold the blade on, the rest are fake.
It's still a cool rudder for $50, as long as you don't expect the same level of quality you get with the $300 pieces.
