    Default Impulse 31 Figerglass issues!!

Hey just wanted to get some imput on this before i call Proboat about this, picked up this boat last year around july, i only take it out with me when i go out to lake havasu in my big boat (witch is about 4 times a year), use just for fun, park at a cove and drive it around ect. This isnt my 1st boat and i have never had this issue with any other boat/company, its looks like the boat is delaminating, boat has never been abused or mis driving. Just notice this today after running it this weekend, last time out with the boat water keep coming in and i could never find out where it was coming from but now i know!

here are some pictures, let me know what u think?!!

the line goes all around the whole boat !!

ouch. Not sure how long the warranty is,but you can give it a try. Did you stuff it at any point(nose in)? Any crazy wrecks? My brother stuffed one and it actually hit the bottom of lake and came up with the seam split like that. A lot of different accidents can cause that to happen. Not saying you did that, just sometimes a wreck causes some serious damage.

I agree with electric, I had a bad crash and it split at the seam also but was an easy fix.
spread the crack alittle with a small screwdriver and use some epoxy in the opening then hold it closed untill dry, then wet sand the exess off.
I also put some fc and resien on the inside to futher strengthen it, you should be good to go, also might think about a paint job.
mine is out for paint now by a custom shop who is doing it pro bono.
    good luck.
ps, numerious flips and rolls sooner or later takes its toll.

Yes i understand flips and rolls will take its toll but i never drove this boat hard and its never even left the water once! Thats why im asking questions. If i would have fliped it or wrecked it then i wouldnt be asking questions as i know it would be my own fault!! If pro boat wont help me out thats fine ill fix it no worries just seeing if anyone else had this issue with this. It is what it is! and i love this boat!

P.S. i drive thel hell out of my old SV27 and even my EKOS and havent had any issues with thoes!!

I have beat the crap out of my impulse and have nothing more than some gel cracks. If you havent beat yours, I would think that it wasnt bonded very well from the factory.

^ thank you thats my point! i beat some of my old boats and havent had issues like this! this boat is too new to have split! the pictures dont do justice, if u seen the split in person u can see its where there layed the top to the bottom and its an even line around the whole boat. Just got back in town from work, going to hit up pro boat and see what they say, Ill keep this thread updated

It is an issue with how some of these boats are made, be it more proboat, but it is how they get such a nicer finish then aquacraft They join the top and bottom, and don't tape the inside the front. I usually now add a bit fibre glass resin to the nose, and with a long brush add some extra on the seam. A bit of expanding foam for buoyancy and structural rigidity, and they will never split, it's a trade off of a beautifully finished boat vs durability. I'd be happy to pay for for extra if they did it at the factory, but it seems every dollar counts when you compete with other manufacturers.

Have a good look inside next time along the deck and hull seams. Also when you add your own foam, it completely fills the bow adding strength, the factory foam is just a blob for buoyancy.
