    Default 5.5MM connectors versus 6.5MM

I am upgrading all of the connectors on my MC and Revolt. However, my Turningy batteries have 8 gauge wires and the 5.5MM connectors only go up to 10 gauge wire. Is there a problem if I go with 6.5MM connectors (Castle Creations)? The ones that I am looking at say they will fit 13-8 Gauge wire.

Just wanted to make sure that I was not missing anything before I ordered them.

    Thanks!

    Cameron,

You can make the 5.5s work. Bore out the 5.5 a bit and crimp the #8 wire to fit. You could always lose a few strands off teh #8 wire as well as needed. #8 is pretty big for that application.

But if you don't want the hassle, 6.5 are fine and will physically fit it.

    Where are you in CA?

Thanks Sanyijr! I thought #8 was pretty big for a 2s battery also but that is what Turnigy has on their batteries.

I live in Orange County, CA.

They are big... But you know, if you trim the strands of the #8 so that you fit what you can into the 5.5, and the rest of the wire solders to the back of the bullet and then insulate over it all, you would be absolutely fine....

Orange Co.... nice... I'm up north. Well, good luck!

Ya that is what I will do (5.5MM). I figure the 6.5mm will be way to big for the wires that come with the ESC anyway. I am heading to Lake Mohave, AZ for the weekend to play with the big speed boat. Bringing both my Revolt and Motley Crew on board to play with in the big glassy coves.

    Thanks again for the info!

I modified my 6.5 Castle bullets so large 8 gauge wire would fit. If you have a Dremel this is easy to do. You can also drill larger, but I found that more difficult
