Binding is not required, calibration is. Basically turn on tx, plug in power to ESC while keeping throttle on full. There will be can initialization tone and then a steady 4 beeps. Within those 4 beeps, you must let trigger go to neutral position. You should hear a confirmation tone and perhaps a set of beeps telling you the cell count. After than you should be good to go BUT, it's always good to shut it all down remove power and then plug it back in before first run. Swordfish ESCs need this done but maybe not turnigy/hobbywing.
