Can I use this motor? Or does it have to be a 4 pole one? The part #'s with the 'B' are 4 poles, not sure on this one.

Your question is too vague. Use it? Sure you can.... You can use whatever you want.
I have the 4074 Turnigy and run 5s in my MG
Sorry. Should have given more details.....
I'm building a dual BJ26. I will be running on 4s, and planning on using a couple of T120's, possibly T180's. Planning on using 36mm cans because I have some spare 36mm cooling jackets.
Just not sure what role the 4 poles plays, vs a motor like listed above, which I'm assuming is a 2 pole motor. There's about a $10 difference between the 2 pole and the 4 pole motors, so trying to save some money if I can. If you need any other specific details, please let me know what you need to know.
4 poles is more efficient but 2 poles work too. They should be fine for what you're doing
thanks for the quick reply. Here's the 4 pole motor I was considering using.

Where would it be more beneficial for me to use the 4 pole ones vs the 2 pole ones? In what scenario? Sorry for the questions, just trying to get a firm understanding on the role they play. I know you said efficiancy, but there's gotta be more to it than just that.

Scroll down to the turnigy 2300kv 4 pole
I see you posted the same one. 4 poles is better. Kintec has these, and you get them in couple of days vs. weeks
Awesome, thanks for your help. With 2 of these suckers it should fly, lol.
No prob. Yeah you might want to put wings on that thing, cause it will be ridiculous haha
I would love to put two into a mean machine hull
I'm guessing I'm better off going with 2 of the T180's. The extra weight probably won't play much of a role, if anything it'll help keep the hull down, lol.
I just bought one of these motors turnigy 3665 2300kv for my ul1. I'm gonna use t120. Should be fine. Motor shipped today so will have soon. I run leopard 3674 1700kv on 5s2p in Titan 29 with t120 all day. No prob.
hmmm, t120's it is then. Save me so money on the purchase and weight on the shipping. On a different topic, I've just spent the last hour reading through posts, and can't find the proper cg starting point for a cat. I swear I've seen it in the past on posts, but can't locate it now. Any idea what a good starting point is for the balance?
Just make sure to start with small props like x440's or similar.
All cats are not the same, but usually people start around 30%
The 4 pole Turnigy is a good motor - don't forget to get the right water jackets at the same time. Also, I'd add a couple of T180s to your order. T180s are pretty much bullet proof & can be used later on larger builds. JIM

Jim has a point about t180, but t120 will work ok, so it's your choice. The only downfall to t180 is their awkward shape. They can be tough to squeeze into some hulls. T120 much smaller and more streamline
awesome, thanks for your help guys. I'll see what I have budget wise for the t180s instead of the t120s. Again, thanks a bunch, good karma for all.
